Little Red Express Truck

Little Red Express Truck - 12/03/21 06:58 AM

Who remembers these beautiful old works of art. Really loved the Dodge vehicles back in the day for their designs. Running those double stacks on the step side bed and using real wood for accents was a thing of beauty! One of the factors of why I love big trucks. '78 was my favorite year for those for the single head lights up front.

whether you like or didn't like they were a work of art.

I liked them but I like most hot rods from that time period and the 60's.

awesome truck when they came out, they would tune up really easy for more giddyup.

they are now worth a fortune in all original condition, saw one go on one of the big auctions for well over 100k.

Always thought they were cool little trucks. Not a work truck but a nice little show piece.

Can't remember very few hotrods from the late 70's and early 80's that was produced or even hotrods, most were about getting gas mileage, and the camaros, firebirds, and mustangs had 6 cylinders in them.

My son owns a ‘79. Needs restoring.

Love those stacks. Approx 2900 made in ‘78 and 5500 in ‘79.

When I was in my teens and early 20's I was a MOPAR guy 100%.

Based on this I give it 2 thumbs up !

This was the state of cars in the mid 70’s. It was a sad time to be a car guy. How do you think the Corvette guys felt in ‘78?

“In 1978 The Dodge Lil' Red Express was the fastest American made vehicle from 0 to 100 MPH as tested by Car and Driver magazine”.

Saw one go across the stage at MECUM a while back. They made the comment that this truck could have been the fastest production automobile that year because of the emission standards. The tid-bits they give about the vehicles is really interesting.

Although I enjoy the effort put into the nostalgia, the ones they are making today are just [censored]. Look nothing like the late 70's version.

I remember it well. I moved to Houston in 1978. A local Dodge dealer had a Houston Oilers pickup on the showroom floor. Only one I ever saw.
