Pontoon boat was hit today

And it is a total loss . My son in Belton was using it and was parked in front of his house this morning . Some older man said he was on chemo and hit it so hard it knocked it off the trailer ! Just had the Yamaha 50 rebuilt 2 summers ago for around 3000 . It was a sweet Voyager 20 fish model . At least he had insurance . Now to find out the value and all the BS with them .

Oh the motor is fine , just had the carbs done . They took it out on Lake Belton yesterday . I don't know how all this works . and now I'm going in for surgery tomorrow . My son said he is going to deal with them . Good trolling motor . new radio , new 2 bank battery charger ect .

They don't make Voyagers anymore so trying to find a pontoon would be hard .

You might be better off selling the motor, TM, trailer etc separately. The aluminum scrap yard would pay to recycle the boat. Insurance is not going to place the same value as you are going to be.

Dang! I would ask for a full replacement. I would also find out if the guy driving was actually supposed to be driving, being under chemo and all. There could be doctors orders for him not to drive. Just saying....

DON'T take their first offer. His insurance company will try to get off as cheap as possible. Try to find replacement costs for the complete rig. Last time I had a major boat claim the insurance company wanted to cover the boat only and leave me with a trailer and motor to deal with. The hull had some pretty serious damage from a big wind.

I did not have any restrictions I went though it for 10 months. But I knew when I would be sick and did not leave the house those days.

They offered me $500 bucks under what I was going to ask Friday . Oh well , after looking at boat prices , we decided to wait till this winter to see if they come down some . We decided to bite the Bullitt and got a 12x24 deck for the lake house . It is being built Friday . We split what was left and I am using my half on my 66 Comet to finish it and get it street ready to cruise .
