was at the Athens ramp 4 years ago loading up, when young man intentionally runs his car into lake, gets out of car, takes his clothes off and swims off into the darkness. Paddled out to see if anyone was in car while it was going down.. guys swims back into waiting arms of police a half hour later as they are pulling vehicle out.

The police got a tow truck out there, got the tow hooked up and were pulling it in 30 minutes?!?! That's either a great response time or they have had lot's of practice.
Interesting video. I agree that’s not the only lake with cars in it. I think they pulled an old one out of Benbrook last year.
There were 3 or 4 cars found submerged at a boat ramp near the COE office. The speculation was that 1 of the cars might be connected to the 3 girls who disappeared from the Seminary South parking lot in the 70's. Turned out to be a dead-end. We used to have keg parties at that ramp back in high school. We called that spot "The Pit".
Had one about go in Wednesday night, the older guy sent it a little hard at the 820 ramp. One of our guys swam out and got the guy, then hooked up to a truck and pulled it out. Could’ve been worse, guy was ok, just rattled.
