Gas prices again

Gas prices again - 05/11/21 09:56 PM

The price of regular unleaded gas jumped 20 cents overnight here in N.B. yesterday it was 2.49, today it is 2.69
I know the cyber attack created a gas shortage in the norhteast, but what does that have to do with people in Texas?

Tanker trucks are being diverted to carry fuel to vital transportation hubs. This along with the shortage of drivers is impacting the VIX.

Yep, enjoy the love of the gas lines too. Watch, there will be a run like toilet paper soon. Let us just be thankful that the Demented One occupying the Oval office looks so presidential. That is what is most important.

Memorial Day is right around the corner. I bet it goes over three before then. If you have an R.V. you are planning on using you better fill it up now.
Does anyone think it will go over 4 dollars a gallon before we can get hidin Biden out?

And locking gas caps! Oh wait I forgot, most new vehicles don't have gas caps anymore.

I feel a little insulated against higher gas prices as I'm going into retirement.

My wife just traded her SUV for a Camry and its first tank was 44.something. While my truck is not fuel efficient, I normally drive it 3 to 5 thousand miles a year. I will probably do a little more walking if prices go up over 3 bucks. I am a cheapskate.

Higher gas prices are good - at least that is what Demented Joe's handlers believe. Cuts down on carbon emissions. They would love prices comparable to Western Europe as it would accelerate the shift to mass transit and electric cars.

GM and Ford are gonna be taking it in the shorts. First a shortage of trucks and s.u.v.'s, now gas is going to go so high, people are going to start buying foreign cars again.

The 70's my azz, that was San Antonio 3 years ago when someone starting tweeting about a gas shortage that started a city wide panic and people were waiting in lines 2 hrs long. Several people were shot and 1 person and their vehicle were hosed with gas and set on fire.
Turns out the shortage was just a hoax.

Re: Gas prices again - 05/12/21 12:20 AM

One of the local gas station chains jumped their price up 20 cents the other day.

Love's on the other hand is still the same price which was 10 cents a gallon cheaper than the other one.

Just had 1000 gallons of clear diesel delivered, $2.65 per gallon. The supplier told me he was going up .30 a gallon the only reason I got the price that I did was I had placed my order last week and he was running behind so he honored my quote. I asked him to go ahead and top off my red too. realmad

Re: Gas prices again - 05/12/21 01:55 AM

Got this email from Pilot / Flying J:

Quote
To our Valued Guests:

We are closely monitoring the rapidly changing Colonial Pipeline situation and are seeing increased demand for gasoline across various markets in the Southeast region. Diesel is still holding steady in most areas.

The increased strain on the supply chain is causing supplies to get tighter. Currently, diesel is available at most of our locations with select stores experiencing outages as we work to bring in more supply.

We will continue to do everything we can, including bringing in resources and extra drivers from unaffected areas, to meet demand and restore supply where needed at our travel centers.

Additionally, please be aware of the recent Georgia Governor’s Executive Order dated May 10, 2021, which suspended the collection of motor fuel and diesel fuel taxes required by Code Section 48-9-3. More details on this are below.

We greatly appreciate your patience as we work to keep up with the quickly evolving market and will inform you of any changes to diesel supply availability.

Store Operations & Supply Conditions:

All locations are open.
No Gas, Diesel Only:
Pilot #425, Midway, FL
Pilot #6996, Warsaw, NC
Pilot #6990, Kenly, NC
Pilot #256, Danville, VA
Pilot #500, Jasper, FL
Flying J #712, Columbia, SC
No Gas or Diesel:
Pilot #7971, Conover, NC (Diesel delivery tonight)
Pilot #7996, Monroe, NC (Diesel delivery tonight)
No Diesel:
Pilot #56, Kannapolis, NC (Diesel delivery tonight)
Flying J #713, Latta, SC
Pilot #4584, Latta, SC (Diesel delivery tonight)
Flying J #623, Quincy/Midway, FL (Diesel delivery tonight)
Pilot #4557, Carnesville, GA

Georgia Excise Tax Executive Order:

We are aware of the recent Georgia Governor’s Executive Order dated May 10, 2021 which suspended the collection of motor fuel and diesel fuel taxes required by Code Section 48-9-3. With the Colonial Pipeline down, we are required to transport fuel from out of state to our Georgia travel centers, which is creating additional issues as several states will require state excise states to be charged if Georgia taxes are not charged. We are attempting to get more information on the proper handling of this order.

In the meantime, we request that you maintain your receipts for any cash or credit card purchases made on May 11, 2021 through 11:59pm on May 15, 2021, or until further guidance from the State of Georgia on the best way to handle this situation dictates otherwise. Based on guidance received, we will review all direct bill and billing card invoices and make adjustments or corrections as needed.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and thank you for your patience during this time.

Re: Gas prices again - 05/12/21 01:16 PM

Property taxes have escalated through the roof, gas will be over $4 soon, there was a limit on milk at Walmart last night and the Biden administration wants to create a "job plan" that cost I forget how much. It didn't take a job plan to drive the unemployment into low single digits with the last administration, plus gas went down and property taxes were pretty stable.

You get what you vote for, oh WE ALL get what is voted for...

Oh, and it took four months for them to accomplish this. Can't wait for the next 3.5 years of this!

The way you make government mandated electric vehicles more acceptable is to make their competition more expensive.

Look at the price of gas in states who have decided to phase out ICE cars and trucks and you will see your future.
Posted By: PowerLizard

Re: Gas prices again - 05/12/21 06:02 PM

The Democrats in the affected states should lead by example and promptly trade in their gas guzzling cars for electric vehicles. They should be complaining about an electric vehicle shortage, not a gasoline shortage.
