I have been seeing a lot of these as I drive rural roads, anybody know what they May mean? I even saw some near lake Ivie this weekend. These were west of Andrews.
Seen where some people do that to keep the top of the post from getting wet and weather rotting as fast. Had a person back in high school throwing a "private" drinking party and they put rocks on the post by the corner where you needed to turn to get there.
In the hill country and back roads the illegals will use a branch with a dogleg in it to point to their camp. So when they leave for whatever reason all they have to do is spot that stick on the side of the road and they're home. That rock could mean the same thing.
nader indicators, rock there/no nader, rock gone/nader came thru.
I thought everyone knew that.
I was going to say it was a rancher and farmers weather forecaster. If rock it wet it is rainy If rock is dry it not rainy. If rock is on the ground it is windy.
Rocks were never more than 100 yds. apart and no gates or fence gaps, there are about 50 between Andrews and Seminole. Single ones other places near Ivie.
I’ll be through that neck of the woods next few days. Pretty interesting, I travel almost all roads in the Permian. I’ll look for more and post any I may find.

Love it! Maybe we should create a new sub-forum area for this.
Seen rocks stacked up on top of each in a single row, used by illegals as trail markers. Rocks on top of the fence post does interest me, could be done to see if illegals are crossing the fences, good thinking on that one.
