That's a good haul. I saw a guy at work last week hop on a 4 wheeler and head to the woods, I jumped on one and followed him. He didn't know I was there and after he left I picked every last one. I feel like I found someone's prize brushpiles.

had a female roommate in colorado that was learned up on shrooms.

her favorite to hunt were chanterelles (had to look that one up to spell) made omelets with em that were some kinda good.

she got morels sometimes but I think our altitude wasn't good for them.

I’m a born and raised WV’ian. Spring trout fishing, hunting morels and wild mountain ramps. Oh gosh, I’m drooling right now....

We had morels and American Kobe NY Strips for dinner... it does not get better that that for a dinner. If u haven't had a fried morel, u don't know the absolute best thing God put on the planet to eat.

excellent table fare. We used to hunt them in Wisconsin starting in April. Are they all over Texas or just certain parts?

I lived in Iowa for several years back in the 90’s and hunted them back then. They were great eating! I didn’t know if they grew anywhere else.

You Texas guys, think morels will still be popping up next week?
We'll be down there for funeral and have a great area to look but I was thinking it was too late.

No, it's not too late if you're looking in the right places.

Thanks Okie, we have the right places to look. Property is along the Red River in North Texas. Didn't know if it was getting to hot for them.

Found out our national forest land that burns in wildfires is a boom for them up here. Talked with a friend that found loads of them last year so we're going to go look in a month or so, or when soil temps get right. Half the forest west of town burned last year and another part 3 years ago.
