It's time for my sometimes annual OT Tournament. it will be on Lake Texhoma at Willow Springs Marina (580)924-2640 April 23-25. $25 per team and a $10 big bass. Like before I'll try and round up some other prizes too.

I had the extreme pleasure of fishing with HOP two years ago and it was great until the temps dropped 30 degrees and the wind picked up 20. I will always appreciate that trip, but if I don’t again, I’m going to do it in a yak. I’m green these days. Those two stroke motors are killing our lakes and our environment.

Over the past year, camping/cabin places will fill occupancy 6-8 weeks prior.

So do they have showers and restrooms for campers?

There is also an RV park at that Willow Springs Marina.
There is also a small lodge just up the road from there.
And also a small set of cabins just up the road not many know about.

I know the state parks across the main road and state park across the bridge have showers also

It says they do on their website David, I don't remember seeing it though. They do have other rooms besides the cabins but I don't know if they're full up or not. They call it the six-plex, we didn't stay there because Ratz called it the sex-plex and scared everyone. I'm surprised the cabins are all full, there are quite a few of them.

Just talked to lady they still have 2 six-plex rooms (sleeps 4 in two beds). for $100. Also, there is another place that has 4 twin beds. They even have a house that is like $250 that sleeps 11

In case you haven’t been to one of my tournaments before we have a winner of the pot for buy ins plus a big bass pot. This year we will also have a big smallmouth pot too. I also go around and get some goodies from some of our great TFF business owners and have drawings for those prizes. In the past it’s been hats, dyobins rods, gift cards to 407, old town ice house, and shuck me, and things like TFF hoodies. Also Hop and Doc, bring tools. I'm going to bring everything I can think of that we might need but we're going to put all new electronics and a new trolling motor on the Cirrhosis of the River. That's what Ratz named his boat. I don't want to get started and have to run to town for a tool. Almost the same setup as Hops boat. If ringfry shows up he can supervise.

Removing old tm and electronics, and then adding trolling motor, electronics, fishfinder could take 6+ hours of being careful and doing it correctly.

From my experience with the Windfinder forecast--they are typically conservative early on with when the front hits (it usually ends up being six hours earlier than they predict)

I would suggest you get there as early as possible, I plan on arriving around 10-11

just a heads up the state min length for lmb and smb is 14" there is no min for spots, but we're going to go with 14" for all fish just so there is no confusion.

I'm up $700, Ratz is up close to $600, Hop is missing in action and Bc is stumbling around somewhere.

I'm at hotel... broke even. Walked around in circles for an hour looking for Hop. Watched Ratz for awhile. I say I broke even, never placed a bet on anything, but might have permanent eye damage trying to spot a hot chick.

I want to thank everyone who showed up. We had a blast. Again I want to thank this year's sponsors, JP and the TFF, Tman, and 407BBQ, Happy Kamper and Shuck Me. Besides the team pot and the big bass pot, I do drawings for prizes and we had some good ones this year. We had two nice Dobyns rods, a couple of TFF shirts (I won one and needed it badly as my old one has a ton of holes in it). Shuck Me and 407 both donated gift cards to their fine restaurants. We also had a big bottle of Eagle Rare bourbon, a small bottle of Buffalo Trace. Heck, we had enough prizes that some of us got 2 prizes. I'll be doing another one next year around the same time and hopefully, some more folks will get to come. We ate like champs too. BcBasscat made breakfast for everyone, and last night for supper we had grilled pheasant, jalapeno cheese deer sausage that's so good you'd slap your momma, I smoked a pork butt for pulled pork, and Hop smoked some pork tenderloins. We had some beans with it. We were so full we didn't even bother with the 10 ears of corn I brought or the other veggies.

I'm not sure who donated the Eagle Rare, but you'll be happy to know we didn't water it down with anything, anything at all.

When I was a kid we would go on trips like this and maybe take 5 pounds of potatoes, a loaf of bread and cheap lunch meat. I like this way better, we ate and drank like kings.
BC sure has nice sausage, it's not the biggest I've ever seen but it sure is pretty.

Great to see everyone again and to meet Reelslow, another super good guy. Big thanks to all and especially Ratz, he works his [censored] off to put these things together and they're always a blast. We're all getting together in June for the Bassmasters Classic, anyone is welcome to join us at the expo, and maybe invade Wawi's place again one evening.

Good times with a great bunch of dudes. Thanks to Hop for the backseat on the Champion. Not so thankful for the 20mph N wind and the opportunity to see how well those old Champions handle it. RATZ loaded up a dad gum smoker and hauled it up there. Crazy cool dudes. Thanks for the invite.
