4 minutes and 37 seconds away from oblivion

4 minutes and 37 seconds away from oblivion - 02/25/21 01:24 PM

Does anyone understand how the whole grid nearly collapsed? I keep reading we were 4 minutes and 37 seconds away from a complete collapse that could have left us with out power for weeks or months. Is this from over/under voltages destroying infrastructure like transformers etc...? Also, do you think Texas would have descended into mass anarchy with power outages that lasted that long? Scary stuff actually.

I've done it a bunch of times. Easy to do if you're not staying up with the board..

I think ERCOT is lying . Trying to save face. Fear mongering garbage.

The root of the problem is that Texas runs its own power grid, which many of us did not realize. Don't want any federal influence down here. That's a sign of weakness.

The system has safties built into it. It will automatically shed the load needed not to crash. The problem with that is they do not get to chose who loses power. I believe ERCOT lying too

A state doesn't want federal government influence... or as little as possible and you see that as a sign of weakness? That response is a sign of brain damage. roflmao
