vaccination eligibility question

vaccination eligibility question - 01/24/21 04:00 PM

Are any kids being vaccinated right now? I was trying to verify a story someone told me, but can't find information to support it. I read that kids 16 and older with cancer or diabetes are eligible to be vaccinated. Also, is the current criteria 65 and older, first responders and medical workers?

it's 16 for one vaccine and 18 for the other but I'm not sure which one goes with what age.

I was told that a 6-year-old was not allowed to attend school without a vaccine. From what I have read, 6-year-olds are not even eligible for the vaccine right now.

Could it have been a test vs. vaccine?

Maybe someone was confused covid vaccine with the normal vaccines that kids have to have to start school?

No vaccinations for anyone under 16.
They are doing trials now for that age group.

Neither vaccine has been approved for children under 16. FDA would not allow it yet

You were told a load of BS, lots of that junk being spread. What you read is correct, would my kids take it? Absolutely not, and nobody should be forced to take it.

If you're on facebook, there is a group called DFW Covid Vaccine...if you will watch it pretty closely, there is good information about where and when you can get a shot and how to sign up.

65+, even without medical conditions are a 1b class and should be eligible in every county. Where do you live?

Tarrant county is pretty organized. I'm 61 with a rare disease that covid would not be kind to. I registered and hand wrote the disease in. Got a call week ago Wed. they had a slot Thurs AM. Cleared my calendar and got my first Moderna shot. Whole process took 45 minutes. Felt very fortunate as I've been very careful for almost a year. Only time this stupid disease has ever been my friend.

The VA, DMV and USPS all suck equally.

Not to be an arse but if want the vaccination you’ve got to pursue the vaccination. Like LSS said get on that site. They’re not going to call people and ask “would you like to get a vaccination. Call every place you can. The wife and I aren’t old to us but 55 and 56. We’re both teachers and called, called and called everywhere and got our first shot 3 weeks ago. Getting the 2nd round Monday (which I’m hearing that 2nd one knocks you down for a day). We’ve gotten 3 calls since to get the shot but cancelled as we already had it. Registered 3 weeks ago with Tarrant county and got a call Sunday to come in. Of course we cancelled. Good luck to those wanting the vaccine and stay on the phone trying to get in somewhere.

But we should be joyful to know that our young Congress people all got their shots first and foremost. Because, well, you know.....power and all that.
