That looks good. There used to be a place in Gun Barrel City that was the best I ever had. Not sure if it’s still there.

There is a place in Seven Points called Molly’s Catfish Cafe that had been there 30 years. McClains is out of business.

The Cove Cafe in Whitney is also excellent...yeah, that one and Madea's are my favorites.

There used to be a place called McGeHees just north of the Oklahoma border. Said to have a little runway to fly in, ive passed over it once but never stopped. Anybody been there and hows the runway? Talked to a couple thats been there many years back and they said it was the best catfish around.

There’s a great local place near me in Danbury,TX(Fillipps Cafe) that has been around since the late 50’s that churns out fried catfish daily. Fried shrimp is great too. Always some old salts that are members of the Beri lake bass club always there BS’ing .

It's been 24 years or so since the last time I was there. It was good...but we drove there.

When I was a kid, my family spent a week in the summer at Caddo State Park. There was a little place close to Johnson’s Ranch called Haddad’s that, I thought, had the best catfish I ever ate. It was before the catfish filets craze and they served whole catfish. Of course, there was also the Big Pines Lodge that also had good fish. Lots of good catfish places down here in East Texas now, but they will never measure up to those Caddo joints.

Chicken Express is hard to beat.

I think you remember the food you ate when you were the hungriest, I can recall what was the best catfish I ever had and the best pizza best Steak and I was about starved down each time.

Heck I remember the best Chimichanga, it was from Allsups in Wink Tx. Saved My life......JMO

If you're ever on I-55 around Amite,La, Mike's catfish is half mile east of the interstate and it has always been very good catfish.

I ate there about 10 years ago and it was very good. Middle of nowhere.

I have never eaten there but a friend that has a house up there says the catfish place in Cartwright, Ok is good.

Catfish Sam's in Arlington has some good catfish.

They have changed. You no longer get the "set up plate" before the meal. The catfish is still tasty though..

Hell nah! The set up plate was the shizzle along with the pinto beans!

Hook line and sinker is great. Used to have a location up north on Preston also that was very good
They used to have an awesome Mexican shrimp cocktail also, but they must have changed their shrimp supplier because about 7 years ago, their shrimp got smaller and not nearly as good.

Fish Fry in Paris used to be solid. Haven’t been there in a while

Huck's is very good.

You can get catfish there now, but a chick from Wise County bought the place and changed it up. I think it is better now. On Thursdays they have calf fries, collard greens and mac and cheese on special. good stuff.

I have been eating weekly at Dukes Fish Shack near Kilgore lately, and I like their offerings.

When I was a kid Bill Martins Zuider Zee was dang good.

Chicken Express is a good way to get your fix if nothing else is available.

Try the new St. Argyles in Argyle. Great cajun seafood.

Fish Fry in Paris was good but they have gotten cheaper fish and have gone downhill

I haven't been there in years but Windy's across the dam at Texoma was pretty good. They have those pickled green tomatoes also. We eat at the Iredell Cafe a few times a year and it is good for a hole in the wall.

They had a place in lake worth for a while. The calf fries are legit.

Good time Charlies in San Antonio TX. Also Clear Springs Restaurant in New Braunfels has great fried catfish.

There is a dive here called JJ Hughes. Awesome fried catfish baskets. A few of us at work have it at least every other week. Pretty much a to go order place. They only have like one dine in table.

I always stopped at catfish oharlies on 287 when I went thru there, had an excellent platter back then.

Stacy’s Fish Fry in Miller’s Grove, North of Lake Fork has an excellent Buffet on Friday and Saturday’s. Cat fish, shrimp and all the sides, homemade cobbler. Well worth the drive.

The Fish Shack in Plano and Richardson is very good..

I've been there several times. I love the catfish, hush puppies and oysters.

Irbys is no more. Now called Bucks and tried it once and will not try it again. Not even close to catfish I had when it was Irbys.

Nothing like a spring break fish fry with family and friends at Lake Granger Willis Creek Park each year for the last 15 years. I'm usually full by the time we get through frying. Man those samples are good and it keeps anyone else from getting sick if we did something wrong. Shiner Bock for dessert.

Medea's in Everman has the best catfish I've had - and all the sides were also outstanding, as well. The Beef Tips are killer too!

Madea's is amazing, unfortunately, they do the fillets and not the whole fish. LOVE Madea's!

Drews place in Fort worth has whole and fillet catfish. It's every bit as good as Medeas.

Best place I've found in my neck of the woods is Wade's Place in Chandler. It's my go-to after fishing N. Palestine.
