New Tom Hanks joint you can rent on Amazon Prime.

Now, as this is/was to be, a major Hollywood movie, its not $4 to rent. Its $19.99. Not too bad if you figure that you have 48 hours to watch it and you and the whole family can watch for one low price.

Look... if we want it to be worth it for studios to keep making big budget cool films... we have to pay for that work they do. If we want to get the next Avengers for $4 to rent at home... its going to be two kids playing with action figures being filmed and its going to suck hard.

Back to the film at hand. Tom Hanks is a traveling news man. Goes town to town reading papers from other towns and telling the news. Trouble is afoot when he finds a child who had been kidnapped by the Kiowa as a baby. Tom takes on the duty of returning her to her remaining family. But the child does not want to go, she thinks the Natives are her only family. However she builds a bond with Tom as they travel all over Texas. The story is...well its predictable. The story does not throw you many surprises. It does move along nicely, never really lags. Has some good old fashioned old west style gun fights, that is always cool. Tom Hanks is excellent as always and the little girl is very good esp. considering she does not speak much.

The story is set in Texas but you wont believe the locations they are calling out based on the topography and plant life... none the less it features some great scenery and cinematography.

Overall all I give this film 3.5 out of 5 Drunken Mudsharks fishing in a kayak.

I think your review is generous. Elizabeth and I both thought the movie pretty much sucked. I kept waiting for it to improve and barely made it to the end.

Ok, to be fair I fell asleep around the time the dust storm hit them... finished it in the morning. So to be honest, I did fall asleep. BUT I was very drunk also so... there was that.

You did not like the shoot out in the mountains with the guys who wanted to kidnap the kid? When she taught him how to load shot gun shells with coins and he blasted those dudes? That part was cool.

Wife and I enjoyed the movie. I would like to have seen it rated R and have more action though. I guess the theme was the ramifications of conflict and war.

Is there nudity? Asking for Derek. I might watch it later if it gets some more good reviews.

No. Its PG-13.

Some mild/moderate violence, some creep references molesting the child, there is some skinned buffalo that the wife thought was gross...

Its pretty family friendly for older kids. Maybe not for little ones. It aint bubble guppies but no boobage or furburgerage.

I have to be honest and transparent. I still recall the movie well despite my thirst that proceeded it, and followed up with the rest of the film right at the point I was taken by the Sandman.

When are you coming out with a new movie? We need Spiderman now more than ever!

Watching a series called "Hand of God" with Dana Delaney and Ron Perlman set in present day. It has two seasons.

Tough Judge's son commits suicide after being ignored / belittled by his Father his whole life.

After the funeral the Judge begins hearing voices he believes come from God. It leads him down a endless path to right some of the wrongs he has committed in his life.

Good cast, unigue plot.
