Headed from Houston to New Orleans to Alvarado hopefully all in the same day . What New Orleans like I’ve never been there before . Is it mardi gra time ?

I’ve never been during Mardi gra, but it was still a crazy place on bourbon street when we went-
Very unique experience-

I believe Mardi Gras parades for the most part have been cancelled, as has most mass gatherings. I expect the rules won’t be followed very closely in New Orleans.

That’s a very long day of travel

Mardi Gras is one day, Tue 02/16/2021 Carmival is the parade season, and that started 01/06/2021. There will not be any parades this year..

If you have to get from New Orleans to Alvarado you won't have enough time to look around the city.

That’s 14-15 hours of car time without any delays, which would be a miracle on I-10. You gonna do anything on this trip or just drive nonstop?

Lock all your tools up in NO, its a cesspool of thieves. But the food is awesome, and lots of history.

straight down and back from dfw is about 16 hrs. not counting stops for food etc.

Go Pat O'Briens and have a Hurricane. Don't drink more than 2 and only if you are staying the night.

Commander's Palace for dinner. Just stroll on in and when they ask about a reservation just say you are a TFF celebrity.

Do not judge NOLA based on this trip, NOLA was not created for the turn and burn. Judge it after you get an opportunity to stay for a couple of days. Stay for a couple of days and sin real hard, then judge it.

I used to have to go to NO twice a month for meetings when I was active duty. I will never set foot in that filthy city again. Hurricane Katrina should have done us all a favor and washed the whole damn thing out to the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

do I have to puke in the streets first?

Streets not required, but if you’re doing it right you should puke somewhere. NOLA really wants you to give it your all...leave nothing for the swim back.

Got some cream cheese and japs boudin balls and some pork cracklins in Lafayette they were tasty .

And crossing over the Mississippi as we speak . Still haven’t seen Troy or any Gators yet but the evening is still young !

It look kinda nice one the episodes of NCIS New Orleans that I've watched. But there is a shoot out in every episode. So be careful.

Leaving New Orleans saw enough didn’t stay long .
