What pharmacy do y’all use - 01/07/21 12:31 PM

Tired of Walgreens not getting prescriptions from dr’s, several of our dr’s have asked us if we would change because of this

Kroger is normally very good if you can’t do mail order.

We use Kroger for all of our prescriptions.

Another vote Kroger.

I certainly can't speak to each location and I'm sure they probably vary but the one I use on Gerault in Flo Mo has always been A+.

Fast, friendly, reliable, the chica there always proactively checks if my insurance or Good RX would be cheaper for me... I like them.

Walgreens for most, very little issue. CVS for one and Walmart for one, only problem with Walmart is going into Walmart

Walmart. They go the extra mile for the patient. When my wifes insurance declined a cancer drug, they sold us enough to get thru the weekend and then persuaded the insurance company to cover the whole order. Saved me over $5000. If the doctor doesn't respond for a renewal, they keep calling till they do get the renewal.

Big box store because the local pharm is $20.00 more for the same cheap generic BP med.

Express Scripts mail order for maintenance stuff. That is who Cigna uses. Walgreens for one timers like antibiotics or pain meds. Fortunately I have not needed those in a few years.

Re: What pharmacy do y’all use - 01/07/21 01:56 PM

Brookshire's or HEB, usually. We have 2 mom and pop places within .5 miles of my house, but they are both a lot more expensive.

One of the mom and pop places is also a medical supply place, so I do buy some things there for my uncle. I used to buy my cane tips and stuff there when I had to walk with a cane.

CVS and Walgreens are 1/2 mile from my house, Walmart is a mile and a half, all convenient to me

CVS. Somehow it is connected to my prescription insurance provider. Works for me, I don't have a lot of prescriptions. When I do need one, I check out GoodRx. I don't know how GoodRx works, but it does.

Re: What pharmacy do y’all use - 01/07/21 02:20 PM

I'll use Brookshire Bros. in my little town (Woodville) , I like their pharmacist as he's a young with a wicked Boston accent. We talk some Patriot football.

Mail order comes through Optum RX.

Now that my employer has switched our insurance provider to Aetna, I use CVS. CVS bought Aetna/merged and ever since I have had zero problems with CVS. When BCBS was our provider, I got everything mail order because both Walgreens and CVS sucked out loud.

Yeah, my mom has the VA ship all my uncle's meds here and then she takes them to the assisted living center. There was an issue when he first got to the assisted living place where meds came up missing...a LOT. Mom put an end to that junk. She makes them sign a log book every time she drops off his meds. He has 19 different meds and then his insulin needles for some fancy injector pen he has to have due to his Parkinson's. The VA does a really good job of sending his meds out in a timely manner.

Walgreens does drop the ball on occasion. I'm on the verge of refusing to submit anything to CVS. They are awful. The typical CVS experience is to submit the fax and get the confirmation and then have the patient call two hours later irate that the prescriptions weren't sent.

I think they hire the youngest/lowest wage pharmacists available.

The local family owned places are the best if you have a good one available though they lack some of the conveniences of the chains. Wal-Mart won't do pain meds anymore due to the pending lawsuit and the good online services are typically the same.

It seems like it's getting harder to find a good one.

Local pharmacy. They get hard to find meds and they do compounds

CVS for our 90 day supply ones, Brookshire's for the one time ones as our insurance will not let Brookshire's to the 90 day ones. Go figure.

I also use local and it’s for service reasons. CVS is basically at the end of my street but it sucks. I use it to pick up a prescription for my dog and it’s a beating. The one prescription I have, I get from the local and it couldn’t be a better experience.

They have a location in Corinth. We use the Lewisville one. Great people, awesome service, and they have the flexibility to handle unusual situations that the big chain pharmacies do not.

Re: What pharmacy do y’all use - 01/07/21 08:00 PM

I'm so sick of our neighborhood CVS, feel like we're in there nearly weekly and its ALWAYS something, either they say the doc hasn't called it in yet, (when I know for a fact they have), or they're out of something.

I've started using the United Grocery store's pharmacy, pretty dang quick easy.

Re: What pharmacy do y’all use - 01/08/21 01:32 AM

Humana mail order @90 days per refill for $0.00

The (referral) cardiologist (in-network) insisted on "calling in" a prescription doubling my 20mg (1x per day) to 40mg but at the same time he told me that I should take 20mg in the morning and 20mg in the evening. Logic says he should have prescribed 20mg tabs 2x per day and I asked him about this - he got this puzzled look and walked out of the room.

Lakeside Pharmacy on Walden Road. I don't know if they're cheaper/more expensive than the big stores as we don't have many prescriptions. But Lakeside is conveniently located, they're friendly & have a drive-thru.
