It was like Cincinnati were on steroids in the first half. They were firing off the line and making plays as if it was the Superbowl. At half time and 0-17, I thought surely Pittsburgh would come out in the second half and overtake the Bengals. It looked like they would for awhile and they had their chances.
This reminds me. Kenny Anderson was a great QB and should be in the HOF. If it wasn't for those pesky 49ers, Cinci would have two Super Bowls. That 1982 Super Bowl, Kenny was the best player on the field. 25 for 34 with 300 yards passing and two passing TDs along with a rushing TD. His 25 passes and 73.5% completion percentage were Super Bowl records.

Just curious. I remember that game when SF drove the field with Montana in the last minute and a half or so but can't remember another time the Bengals were close. Can you help an old man's memory here?

Yep lot of quarterbacks can say the same thing about Joe Montana and those 49’s. The first name that comes up is cowgirls and Dolphins with Dan Marino
Big Ben looked like he just didn't want to be there from the beginning and it got worse as the game went on. Those CIN DB's were bringing it too. Knocking the pp out of Juju and Claypool all night.
Here's the stats from the 1982 Superbowl. Yes, I'm still furious about Montana's last minute heroics. Cost me my first gambling loss, hated the 49ers, and lost a quarter against some punk nine year old Steeler's fan( he liked Joe Montana, while my dislike of all things Notre Dame included Montana).
The officials didn’t call a clear PI at the end of the 4th that would have been game changing more than likely. NFL officials are horrible to say the least.
