That's generally the tests from the day before. The PCR test, the most accurate, takes about 24 hours. Some places take a bit longer depending on the number of tests being sent in. These are not the rapid tests. The rapid test is an antigen test and it has a greater number of false positives.

As to the numbers being down from Thursday on, that's because most of the county offices that report are closer for holidays. There will be large numbers this week due to the backlog caused by said closures.
