time for a blast and cast

time for a blast and cast - 11/25/20 01:41 AM

looks like we will be arriving Thursday the 14 of January and fishing the 15 at lake tenkiller in OK, then on the 16 we will have a European pheasant hunt. If you haven't been on a euro pheasant hunt you don't know what you are missing no stomping in the mud just blast birds as they fly by. Tenkiller that time of year is full of big hungry bass. We'll look at staying at the state park in cabins.

Agreed. Techno music is the worst. Except for those rappers who use bird calls in their song. Those guys suck.

If you are talking tower shoot I've been on a couple, fast-flying big birds are harder to hit than you think. It is not like dove hunting where you go out and maybe see 10 or 15 birds and shoot at 8 and kill 2. A tower shoot has 300 birds and you get the chance to shoot a couple of boxes of shells. Think Argentina dove hunt without spending 10 thousand bucks and you get lunch afterward.

That's pretty much it but we eat lunch first. Ratz and I shot about 3 boxes each last year, but we were by far the greatest shooters out there and had to pick up everyone's slack.
We kind of set this up for the OT, there's room for 24 shooters so anyone that's interested is welcome. Plenty of cabins at the state park for everyone, chance for a giant smallmouth on Tenkiller.

I fished a jackpot on Tenkiller today. Not what we were going for but we got into a school of these hybrids and it was almost every cast for about 45 minutes til we got tired of catching them. [Linked Image]

Here is one of the cabins, there are about 40 of them all on or very near the water. It's really nice there and Tenkiller is one of the prettiest lakes in the country. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome to fish and/or hunt, we might get a card game going in the evenings. BCbasscat is a great cook, I'll have enough beef, pork, and pheasant to feed an army and for a bottle of fireball we can probably talk him into preparing world class meals.
