We may have a small gathering at my sister's, we're not sure. We've done similar gatherings in the past...We space ourselves out a bit more than we used to and my sister provides single use utensils and plates.
I'll be tested the Monday before (that's my scheduled date) and my mom will be tested because she wants to see her brother in the assisted living center....I would like the rest of the family to be tested beforehand to just be safe. Mom is 69, my sister's in-laws are in their late 70's, so I want to keep them safe...

Same. Not going to fly for some time. Didn't like to fly anymore anyway. COVID gives me an excuse not to. Plus my folks are in a Seniors Residents community in Kansas and they are not allowing outside visitors at this time. We rarely do holidays with family. So we will have our normal, just the wife and I, turkey and fixins.

Not going to gather. Ill eat my moms homemade El Paso taco recipe(They are Mashed potato and beef, deep fried till soft, then baked with the cheese and then add toppings. My wife makes them to perfection), homemade refritos, homemade “mescan” rice. then I’ll go fishing. Then come home for seconds and thirds and fourths. Homemade sopapillas for dessert with homemade butter and homemade honey.
I only get them twice a year. Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a LOT of work.

Hardly a gathering, but I'm not staying in.

We are having our regular thanksgiving available to the family/friends that want to come-
I believe since we all seem to be able to go to the stores for things we want/need, we can also safely gather.
If you are concerned you are not pressured to come-
We will have extra sanitizer available, we have plentiful space inside and outside-
If you don’t feel comfortable shaking hands or hugging simply don’t-
We plan to have a wonderful time safely with whoever shows-

I would like to go to my brothers house to see him and his family but he is 6 years older than me, I would hate to take the Covid to him and his family. We will just gather there after this stuff clears out, if ever.
Is your brother Olderrabbit?
We will be gathering, but having a small family there will only be 6 adults and 2 grandchildren. Our daughter and SIL will are going to his parents house. We will be visiting with another couple. Our relatives have had recent exposures to people with covid.

The word “Friendsgiving” is what’s wrong with the world nowadays. It’s called THANKSGIVING!!! It is a holiday. It isn’t up for interpretation or modification.

You are correct. I had to backtrack through this to see who used the term Friendsgiving. That is like calling Christmas "Tree Festival Day".

Big gathering for us. 30-40. My Mom passed away almost two years ago, she would rain down lightning bolts from Heaven if we didn't gather as a family.

You guys are ridiculous. The point is we are having friends over and not family because we have zero family within 1000 miles of here. Both my wife and I have parents who probably would not survive COVID. Trust me, I'd much rather have Thanksgiving with my actual family like most of you get to, but since that's not an option this year, we are doing the next best thing and having some friends over. I'm making light of the fact I won't get to see my family this holiday season with my word choice of Friendsgiving. If it helps any of you sleep better at night when we invited the friends over, we asked if they would like to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. Take a chill pill.

For sure, but trust me, I'd rather have a traditional Thanksgiving with my family and my grandmas' cooking!

There’s a tendency to over-rate friends and family prior to their arrival, and then a few months after they leave holiday gatherings.

Reading this post as my elderly (over 75) Wife asked me if buying a turkey leg and breast plus containers of the rest of the meal from Brookshires.
They forgot to memtion this to me when I was younger. PLEASE, enjoy where and when you can. We all are, have or have had Parents.

I voted no because tbe big gathering to the close to 50 annual friends and family one is canceled.
My daughter and SIL are coming from Dallas and niece, nephew and his girlfriend, brother and SIL are all local and are doing a small one at their house. Hope to get the daughter and new SIL on a whitetail 2
while they are here.

We are having about 15 family members at our home. They are coming from Lubbock, Ft Worth, Robert Lee, and San Angelo. I had purchased a ticket for my 85 yr old Dad to fly down and join us but decided to cancel his flight after speaking with him. It wasn't an easy decision, but I believe the correct one at this time due the risk.

Careful Bob. You do know that chill pills are made from the devil’s lettuce, right? And that’s a gateway drug. Too many chill pills and the next thing you know, you’re strung out on the dope, living in a dumpster behind a liquor store, hoping that jensent comes by and takes pity on you, and throws you a $20 so you can get your next fix of chill pills.

I've always wanted to live in a Maytag refrigerator box under I-45.

On the plus side, your property tax bill would likely drop significantly.
