Hot. In the shower with a fogless mirror. I only shave M/W/F.

Re: shaving - 11/13/20 05:16 PM
I cycle between a half arse beard till it annoys me and clean shaven. I shaved this morning, I start with clippers before I get in shower, then I take hot shower scrubbing face with rag and soap from a pump. Afterwards hot water and razor. Followed by a splash of cold water. I feel special once it's done.
Hot, cause cold is wrong!

Hot splash prior to lather, hot to rinse razor, then cold to wash off. This is how I read to do it when but a wee yute. Something to do with pores opening and closing.

In the shower with a fogless mirror daily.

Had to laugh at WAWI. When I saw this thread I figured someone would say something about pump soap or body wash. If, and that’s a big fat if I let mine get out of control I use bar soap with H2O.

If you're using cold to do your manscaping, be careful not to knick the little blue acorn!

Hot water, in the shower - I don't need a stinkin' mirror.

Re: shaving - 11/13/20 09:11 PM
About once a month after a hot shower the rest of the time I use a trimmer.
Haven't shaved since 2006. But if memory holds, hot water, lather, razor, then cold water rinse off
Hot because it works better. Shave many times with cold water when I was in the Army so I know I prefer hot.

This is the only advantage a steel pot had over Kevlar. I like to start with hot and finish with cold.

Like this. Caveat, I have a full beard so just trimming around-you know...
Hot, but I only shave my neck and above the beard line for certain occasions.

No one uses an electric razor?
Once I get out of the shower and shave without shaving cream, I clean up around my mouth with an electric rayzor. Gotta look professional and the hair ring just doesn't look good.

Electric here, all my life.

Re: shaving - 11/13/20 11:55 PM
All depends on whether I have a full beard or goatee. Full beard I shave neck, etc with hot hater in the sink, trim with electric trimmer. Goatee, in the shower with fogless mirror. Haven't been clean shaven in 48 years.

Exactly what I do. I learned a long time ago that shaving cream is what cause those nicks. Haven't nicked myself since I started doing it without.
If I get side tracked and the whiskers dry out too much, I'll take a scalding hot wet wash rag and soak it down a bit. Works great for me.

hot water, in the shower, every few days or if going with my wife somewhere, lather up with bar soap, works just as well as shaving cream, can do it eyes closed, don't need a mirror, tried an electric once, painful , it fell like it was grabbing stubble and yanking it out.
Hot, cause cold is wrong!
I shaved with cold water for a year and a half in Nam. Swore I would never do that again and I never have. Being retired I shave once or twice a week max.

Hot water brush and shaving mug. I also use an electric sometimes.

Hot with a Mach 3 or Gillette 4 blade. Rinse with cold. My bride has bought me 3 or 4 electric shavers, they just don’t cut as clean or as straight as a real razor, IMO.

With my beard, I just clean up some lost hairs away from the herd. Water and razor is quick and easy.
Before the beard it was hot water before shaving cream and cold water for final rinse.
