When DPS shows up at your house

It is never good when a DPS officer shows up at your house. Had this happen Monday evening and he was there to notify my wife that her brother had been killed in a crash while riding his motorcycle. The notification was like something you see on tv but never imagine happening to you.

For you guys that ride, you can never be too safe or careful.

I’m in my 37th year as a cop. Death notifications have always been one of the worst aspects of the job. It really sucks to wake a family up before dawn and tell them their kid’s never coming home again.

The next time you get pulled over by a cop for driving stupid, instead of whining about quotas and revenue, think about why he or she is REALLY stopping you. Don’t mean to hijack the thread, but that needs to be said.

So true,I see the idiots every day and I ride a motorcycle every day to work. I can spot someone on a cell phone instantly and usually speed up to get out of their way. I've had acquaintances and a close friends son die in cycle crashes and its something I dont like to think about. I really enjoy riding and I've learned a lot about distancing myself from the packs of cars.

Damn, RIP. Sorry for your loss. My condolences SIr.

One of the reasons I didn't become a police officer. My sister had that same visit when her husband was killed in an auto accident with an 18 wheeler. My BIL and I had to get the personal items out of his car. I can still remember the smell of iron in the vehicle from all the blood.
