Yellow Dog Conversion..... This is ingenuity!

Yellow Dog Conversion..... This is ingenuity! - 09/21/20 02:44 PM

I was coming home from Tawakoni and saw this guy in the Quinlan Wal-Mart. This was the best shot I could get without dragging my boat through that chaos.

Look closely.... This is using your noggin!

I'm especially fond of the modified bed conversion over to a toy hauler. Then comes the plywood for the "bedroom" windows. Are those 110 outlets installed into the exterior? I love the cables run down the side. That should pass inspection.

Am I missing anything?

Any guesses as to total investment?

Is that a generator bolted down on the front?

My guess is that guy bought the bus at auction for less than $5K and did the conversion work in his garage using only scrap materials he had on hand.

He probably got all the bedroom materials from his RV that was stripped down to cook meth.

I see school bus conversions fairly regularly, but that's probably one of the more ghetto examples.

Investment on the modifications (not the bus) if done yourself could be done for under $1,000. I can't see what's done on the inside obviously.

Looks like the generator on the front is one of those 4,000 watt Champions. $500 at TSC. Bad idea for it to be mounted on the front due to higher potential for damage. The plywood window covers painted dark brown is a nice touch.

It’s definitely setup for the lease . Poor mans version of an rv with a toy hauler mixed in . It’s cool just looks like carp.

Only in Quinlan, where the men are men, sheep run scared, and cows don't stand in front of stumps.

my great grandfather lived in a bus on the most beautiful piece of Arkansas Ozark mountains I've ever seen. Bus didn't even move. He loved it

That would make a great kayak hauler. Just back and down the ramp and unload.
