Red or White Onions ?

On burgers and sandwiches. I may or may not make menu choice based on the opinions I receive.

At one time I would have said red, but I only use red on salad now. Give me an onion with a little heat White on burgers and if sautéed

And I ask this cause I'm tending to want to go red on chicken sandwiches and would be easier to just do the same across board

1011 sweet for white. I prefer red on burgers and sandwiches tho.

for a restaurant I think red also helps presentation if done right, adds some color to the plate.

Fresh/raw red onions are better; but grilled or sautéed white onions beat fresh/raw red.

Fair enough, but I like 'em on burgers and definitely in ceviche.

I have grilled onions and will load them up all want lol. That's between you and the people you have to ride in car with on way home.

Neither - Allergic to Onions. Body can tolerate dehydrated or powder, so must be something to do with the liquids in the onion.

Just give me some of those Vidalia onions and you guy's "press on".

No onions. They make ill.

Red onions look better but to me they are usually too strong, I like the sweet 1015's, I believe an Aggie developed them.

Some onions are very strong and then there are others that are very mild and sweet, I personally do not like the strong onions unless they have been cooked, nothing like belching a harsh onion all day.

Red onions look better, but they tend to have a very strong smell to them and they can be too strong in taste too, to the point where they overwhelm the burger. Onions provide the crunch in a burger, so you want a good think slice of sweet onion in your burger bite, not a single ring of a stinky red onion.

I don't care for raw onion on anything, but grilled/caramelized are fine. If you use yellow for onion rings then just use those and just order one onion.

White on burgers purple onions go best with beans and cornbread.

I would say green onions as a topper for beans, chili or soup.

I agree red with the chicken but I sure like some big white tear jerkers on my burger. I get the simplicity for the team though in keeping it simple.

I voted early for white, but after reading all the other comments, I would second my vote for white. The burger should have bite, and the red does not cut it. Red is for raw salad only, and sometime white is better on salad too.
