Saw a different hummingbird tonight.

Saw a different hummingbird tonight. - 06/29/20 02:34 AM

While I was watering plants this evening I saw a green and blue hummingbird checking out my flowers. Looking online and the only one that looks like it is a broad billed hummingbird.

Not my picture.. I was shooting water everywhere.

That's a pretty hummingbird. I like hummingbirds, like watching them around the feeders here.

I like watching them, but I have to tell you they are not what they appear.

People think of these tiny feathered creatures as the epitome of peace and tranquility. Nope. They can be aggressive and territorial.

I have no question about them being vicious! They fight anything that moves! I’m out there trying to refill the feeders and they’re giving me the what for and why.

I see different colors on mine Katt according to how the sunlight is hitting them-

Yep! You’re likely seeing either ruby throat or black chinned. I’ve seen those all my life. But I’d never seen one with blue.

In the past 6 weeks or so, we've had 2 get "trapped" in the garage. Pretty certain they were the Ruby Throat. I was able to get them to land on a broom and escort them out. Cool little birds

Been a few years since I’ve seen one, we’ve always had at least one in the backyard.

NICE

We have bird feeders and Hum Bird feeders. I'd rather sit on my porch and watch birds than pretty much anything on my 7,000 DirecTV channels.
