One heck of a ride - 05/17/20 11:56 PM

This little girl will be a Freshman next yr. Jr High has been one hell of a ride... from crippled horses, broken arm and injuries, to now Covid-19. Through it all she has kept her chin up and focused on being the best she can. Ready to wrap this up and look forward to the State Finals

Great to see a young person commit to something then excel at it. A lot of sacrifices and hard work.

That’s her and Gator. When they are on , she will run against anybody, youth or Pro, and be competitive.

Who is your wife’s cousin? Most likely they already have. Riley runs now in the open/pros . She has qualified for the Patriot /American last two yrs but wasn’t able to run

Thanks ... if you have never rodeoed you most likely won’t get it... the dedication it takes. The miles of empty highways ... chasing that gold buckle dream. But you have those few who have it... I am biased and admit it but she has the it

Great stuff there. Love to see the discipline and dedication in a youth. You don't see that so much anymore.

Make sure she remembers to never squat while wearing spurs.

I used to rodeo when I was young (Jr and Sr Bull Riding and a little bareback and roping) and remembered how much of a blast it was going to the weekend rodeos. Then I switched over to showing reining and working cow horses. The best thing is, she should stay out of trouble because it teaches you a lot of responsibilities and you just don't have time to find trouble. Just keep her away from the cowboys who rides bulls, bareback, roping and showing reining horses. Those guys are real heartbreakers and nothing but trouble.

Keep up the great work and I hope she becomes the next Charmayne James.

You are right about teaching responsibility. She stays pretty busy riding all her horses. As far as rough stock riders, being a former one, I agree to a certain extent lol

Looks like the end of June we will be able to go compete for a State Championship. I say we because it’s a team effort.. me , her mom and stepdad, all working together. Thanks to all for the kind words. Now it’s time to go win it!!!

That"s her goal. Ever since she won her first race at 4 yrs old she has said she will be a Worlds Champion someday. She is super competitive and hates losing.
