My $68.00 weedeater from Walmart finally bit the dust after 3 years. No complaints other than now I need something bigger. Would like to have a Stihl but don’t want to pay $200-300 for one. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Go with the Stihl, you won't regret it. I have had mine for 15 years and it still starts on the first pull. Plenty of power to run a cut off blade too.

I have an echo.
Choke on, pull twice, choke off pull once and it goes....
If not in that order, it is hard to start.
I like this better all the others I have owned. Never had a stihl though.

I'm a fan. Bought a Stihl KM56 series a few years ago, so I can use attachments on it. It's been fantastic. Though I did buy a Ryobi backpack sprayer today. Ryobi reviews on most their stuff has been solid.

I would get a Stihl for a few reasons. First, you will actually save a bunch of money in the long run. Also, it will make the job easier, faster and give you better results. Straight shaft is the way to go, it will be a trimmer and an edger. Curved shafts are for... well, you know.

Echo makes a good product. If 2 stroke use non- ethanol gas.

I followed advice on here and use that premix canned fuel. Expensive but weed eater keeps on going.

I can't get non ethanol were I am. I just use a synthetic oil and 87 octane. I have had no issues for many years in my Echo blower and weed eater

Stihl for the win,pay the $400 and never look back, second choice would be Ryobi but as mentioned above, use tru fuel, mine ran like [censored] for two years on regular no lead gas, switched it to the stihl premix gas that came with my tiller and halfway thru the first tank it was running like new,I now run tru fuel in all my 2 stroke implements.

I have an echo weedeater that is 17 years old. It still cranks and operates the same as when it was new.
Just like the above post!
I bought an entry level curved shaft Stihl 12 years ago and it still runs like brand new. The curved shaft makes it easier to use as an edger. Pull once on choke then pull off choke and it starts every time.
