Whataburger review

Hadn't been in years so I went today. first off, if you think they're fast food you are mistaken. 20 minutes to get food. bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos. It's a sad dry mess. frys are meh at best. All in all a big disappointment. won't be back.

Agreed on the fast food part. I dont hate the food but the line in the drive through usually is enough to deter me.

Varies greatly by location. The one by my work near DFW Airport north side is really good.

Onion rings are the only way to go at Whataburger. That is the main reason I go there.

I went not too long ago myself. My boy was the one that wanted to go. It wasn't my first time to eat there, but it has been years since I have eaten there. I figured...with an open mind...Ok let's see what all the hype is about. Mine was actually disappointing. The fries were below average (white, pale and tasteless) and my burger (the actual meat patty part) was cold. I was not impressed at all. I mean it was eatable, but shoot I have had better burgers from Wendy's.

Their breakfast taquitos are consistently good no matter which location.
Hard to screw up eggs, cheese, and hashbrowns wrapped in a tortilla.

Yeah, it seems to vary by location which is sad. I worked at In N Out for 5 years many years ago and know that any at of their locations you will receive the same quality of food.

I’m a meh on wataburger, I can eat there but I never seek it out and isn’t my first choice for FF

This would be a step up from what I get from our Whatabugger. Mine always look like the burger fell on the floor and a few folks stepped on it first.

I agree that it varies by location but the thickness of the meat is a joke. Sometimes the tomato is thicker than the meat. Also they must own an onion farm as there is enough on each burger for about 3 of them. Used to love them but now I just have to need a WB fix to go there.

I ordered a Whataburger with cheese to go , got home only to find out they left off the MEAT!!! Next time I will order a Whata with cheese!

Nothing wrong with whataburger. Double meat, double cheese, LTPO, mustard, jalapeno, large fries, large diet coke. Mmmmmmmmmm good.

Their burgers are meh but the chicken sandwiches are pretty good. Definitely don't want to be in a hurry when you order.

The Whatabooger at Lemmon and Inwood sucks and it doesn’t matter if there are 3 or 30 customers, you’re still going to wait 20 minutes for your order

The Whataburger in Mineola is pretty good. My go to for now is the Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger hold the mustard. The wife likes the patty melt. But then again, I have tinnitus, so what do I know.

Must be the Whataburger you visited. Appears the burger was dropped.I never had a bad burger from any Whataburger. They have a policy there if you don't like it they will give your money back. Just don't keep eating the food before you take it back.

My luck has been pretty good at Whataburger. I never get it to go because I want it hot. Usually the service is decent not too long a wait. I have ate at a pretty good number of their restaurants over the years. Just a few have been noticeably worse. For ~$7 it’s a decent burger combo MES.

Five Guys totally sucks. For the high price you can get a decent meal.

We lived in Bridge City 15 years ago and that Whataburger was very good. Wife and I looked forward to a burger 🍔 whenever we had been away from home. Work carried me out of Texas and we tried to eat them whenever we went back for a visit, but in the last few visits to eat the highly anticipated burger, we were sorely disappointed. So sad.

Slamming Whataburger is about the same thing as going to the middle of a trailer park with a bullhorn and saying, "Walmart sucks!".

Ate at whataburger last week. I noticed the meat was super thin, like 1/8" or less.

They have the crinkles too!?! Shoot I will have to give them a whirl. Only had Canes once a long time ago, do not recall being super impressed but I forgot to bring my lunch to work today and there is a Canes down the street, might have to stop in later and give my review.

They are the skinny crinkle cut too.

So does burger box. Also superior to whatabuggar.

I like Canes, but lately the size of their chicken strips has decreased. Eight bucks for 4 strips about the size of a chicken nugget is no good. Cane sauce is good, just not that good.

Braums is hands down the best fast food burger out there. The fact that wawi hates it confirms this for me.

I was not impressed by Raising Cains!! When they opened the one in Midland a few weeks ago they had a line all the way down the street... its not that good people...

I haven't eaten at What a Burger in a while they remodeled ours and haven't been since, but it seems it was pretty decent before... but that was before it was sold!! I was wondering if the quality of food was going to go down... Guess I know the answer to that now...Thank for the review!! I will have to try it out and give my opinion later!!

I agree. Not a fan. Their crinkle cut fries are mush, and that Texas toast is soggy mushy as well.

And if you are a chicken place, you should have a good grilled chicken sandwich

I’m with Laker on this one. Their double cheeseburger with all the fix‘ns is hard to beat. And their prices are very reasonable for what you get. That’s where me and my boy go whenever we have a hankering for a good ole burger.

I had Zadby’s for dinner last night. I have been there many times and they do have some dam good chicken. I have been to Cane’s but I don’t remember being really impressed. I think I went once and haven’t been back, if that means anything.

I have a ongoing issue with Whataburger in that when I order I whata size the onion rings, pull a manager from the back and ask them
if they can make sure I get onion rings and not onion ring pieces.

Even after assuring me that the will take care of it, they do not.

And it is a real simple fix: stop letting your vendors and employees toss cases or frozen goods around and then you do not end up with as many broken fries, onion rings ect...

That was not allowed when I managed, you got real, full, circular onion rings in one piece

As a kid growing up I LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Whataburger. Now every time I go I'm so disappointed. Buns are usually so dry and the whole burger is usually cold or luke warm only. Usually only the saving grace is the firs, but lately they have been over cooked or cold. Now their shakes are still awesome. Being on a diet though I can't have those.

Chicken Express is 10x better then Cane's. Cane's menu is too limited and they don't have okra. I guess the people at the Rockwall Whataburger don't throw boxes of onion rings around. I rarely get pieces.

the only complaint I have with ours is that the frys are always mushy and cold. everything else is perfect. I don't get it.

Burger Boy in San Antonio is the best fast food burger period

Yup, I’m never really impressed with it.... but my wife loves it so we go from time to time. Never through the drive thu though.... I like sonic the best!

All whateverburgers have that one big cored out chunk of lettuce from the center of the lettuce universe.

Agree on the Whataburger going downhill. Had a great burger at the Valero in Sanger yesterday.

Location, location, location. Some almost as good as Dairy Queen.

Wataburger cooks their meat in the morning then place it in a warmer. That dries out the meat and it doesn't keep it warm enough. The fries need another 5 minutes to get crunchy and done. Never go there , and the buns suck. Gone are the days of cooking the meat and placing the cheese on the meat while still on griddle. Buns are run through a machine to brown ,instead of heating on the griddle. Slice the damn onions and tear the lettuce into leafs.

Well two of the managers i asked said they do read my sig line.

So when I go in and the griddle is covered in meat, they are cheesing it and putting the bottom bun on those are just for looks, they throw them away and grab one out of the warmer, is that what you are saying?
