Never again, sorry. Had several good F150's especially the 6 cyl. motor and have heard great stories about the 7.3 but the 6.0 did me in.

Re: Ford Owners Only Thread - 01/17/20 02:47 PM

As you guys may know I sold my 99 F150 about a year ago. Had it since I was 18, bought it new. Had to replace the AC compressor, a fuel pump and an alternator... sounds like a lot but over 20 years thats not bad! Paid 12k cash for it when it was new and sold it for $3500. NOT BAD!

Got a 2018 F150 with the 2.7 Ecoboost engine. So far I love it. Very comfortable, plenty of power, gets 20MPG. Its pretty dang sweet. We will see how she lasts in the next 20 years!

I think Chevy and Toyota make very good trucks, but I prefer the Fords. Just my choice. Rams are the only ones that REALLY suck.

I'm standing around the job talking to one of your fellow ford owners who's 2019 F250 has been at the dealer for 6 weeks now for the death wobble. They still can't tell him when it will be fixed. I'd be mad as heck if I was making $1,200 payments on a truck I couldn't drive.

Well yeah you barely drive it. Traded my 15 in back in September with 115k on it. Be prepared to replace the throttle body around 100k. Known issue with the TB's in the Ecoboost motors.

I bought a brand new Ranger right before they quit making them. Less than 100k miles and I had to replace a transmission. Then one of the heads cracked. Found out it was a known issue for this motor. Great! Almost $30k on a new vehicle and Ford has no intentions of making it right. I never had any issues owning a Ford...until that truck. And it was enough for me to go Toyota!!!

Re: Ford Owners Only Thread - 01/17/20 07:05 PM

214,000 on my ecoboost now. Still truckin'. Noticed a little rattle a couple of days ago, couldn't figure out if it was the water pump or tensioner pulley. It was the water pump.

Several sets of brakes
New rotors front and back
New throttle body at around 180,000 miles (easy fix)
On fourth set of plugs
On second battery
New water pump at 214,000 miles (paid for that one to be done)

Was past due on changing plugs. In November when I pulled them a couple of them were burnt out to >.040. Put new ones in at .029, new air filter, cleaned the sensors and running like new again. It got 12.6 mpg pulling the boat from Covington to Rayburn back in December.

Here's my trip from Justin to Covington LA after Christmas. Not bad for having a little lift and some 33s on it.

Re: Ford Owners Only Thread - 01/17/20 07:22 PM

Other than the leak in the rear windshield that took 2 tries and 2 weeks to fix along with it suddenly dying when I come to a stop (which is a huge issue with the VST Solenoids on the 5.0 and Ford hasn't done a thing about it) it's been okay... I will not own another but don't want to own any of the others either. Might buy a new RAM with a cummins so I can start rollin coal again.

Re: Ford Owners Only Thread - 01/17/20 07:25 PM

got a 2012 six cylinder non ecoboost stays hooked to the boat and is good any day of the week for getting ten and less MPG. I drove Chebbies all my life but I ain't paying more to drive one now, and there will never be another Dodge, 2 is a lifetime supply. I know the new new ones are better but it would be hard to be any worse, when you on the bottom there's only up, or out of business.

Drove my trusty ‘99 GMC 262,000 miles and the A/C broke. Everything else was working just fine. I parked it for 7 years and bought my Superduty. Recently I did a light restoration on it and now it’s my primary truck for local runs.

[Linked Image]

The ‘11 Superduty has 125,000 on it. It’s rocking a full bypass and the turbo airflow system upgrade, plus I added a RanchHand brush guard, toolbox and Amp power running boards. It’s the best truck I’ve ever driven. It’s quick and it’s fast. My go to for the long hauls. It loves cruising at 100 turning just 2100 RPM.

Not even close. Ridgeline is rated at 5000, Raptor 8000 and that's because of the tires and rear suspension. Mine sagged a few inches towing my '22 bay boat but handling and power was never an issue.

Re: Ford Owners Only Thread - 01/18/20 05:18 PM

My brother has a platinum ecoboost. He said its pretty awesome until it bogs down while trying to pass people on the highway. As far as taking the kids to school and Kroger runs, it performs at a high level.

The work truck is a 2014 F250 with a service body. It runs good and stays loaded with about 2,000 lbs.

My personal truck is not a ford and its superior to all ford products but this is a ford topic so I wont bring up how awesome it is.

I went with matching Denali's. Figured if I was going to be in debt might as well go big or go home. [Linked Image]

I own a 2015 Ford Explorer with about 80,000 miles that the wife drives, It has an electric rack and pinion steering that gave out last week.

Waiting on parts now. About $2k to fix.

I'm not real proud of my ford right now.

Had a 2010 Ford F150. Blew transmission at 26/K. Service manager recommended not to tow with it (same time Ford advertising highest towing in "class"). Covered under warranty. In total burned up 7 coils. Three under warranty 4 not. Ac went out at 50/K (under extended warranty) and again at 80/K (not covered). At 100/K someone T-boned me at an intersection and put me out of my misery.

Bought a 2014 Toyota Tundra and have not looked back.

Smart man. You probably stopped frequenting what burgers at 5 am for 3 hours of coffee talking and quit craving prunes when. You got in that tundra.
