Wellers 12 is the best I’ve ever had.

Just looked up what you posted. Sounds interesting.

I got so sick on bourbon in high school I’ve never been able to stomach it since

Re: Bourbon - 11/20/19 02:45 AM

I'm out.

The mouthfeel is very full and satisfying, but like the nose feels like a non-Weller bourbon. Full long finish with baked goods dominating the finish. { Slight nuttyness on the end of the finish that sits on the back of the tongue }. I review price based on MSRP or retail prices.

It's a pricey drink lol. I haven't decided what to charge but some stupid numbers are being paid for the stuff.

Re: Bourbon - 11/20/19 02:56 AM

cool story about it

In any bourbon drinker’s life, there comes a time when they inevitably (spurred on by at least a few fingers’ worth of the stuff) say that they want to make their own bourbon. They’ll spout grandiose plans replete with beautiful Vendome stills, kick-[censored] bottle labels, and all the bourbon you could ever drink. No talk of the long hours and the hard labor it takes to make a quality product, but hell if you’re drinking a lot who wants to think about the hard stuff?

Most, obviously, never follow through (damn you real world!). Starting in November 2015, though, about 100,000 bourbon drinkers got to — at least, theoretically — try their hand at “crafting” their own bourbon.

It was back then that Buffalo Trace launched their “Craft Your Perfect Bourbon” website, more or less in jest as a way to educate consumers about their whiskey. Once on the site, you were able to determine the grain recipe, watch that recipe go through the distilling process, determine where in the warehouse it would be aged, how long it would age, and the ultimate proof of the bourbon when it would be ready to bottle.

In total, 100,239 people crafted a bourbon recipe. According to Buffalo Trace, an overwhelming number of those eager crafters made a wheated bourbon that would be aged for eight years. That bourbon would be aged on the top floor of the warehouse and bottled between 90 and 99 proof.

And what did Buffalo Trace do with all this data? Well, they made a damn bourbon with it, of course. They named the resultant whiskey W.L. Weller CYPB, short for — you guessed it — Craft Your Perfect Bourbon.

If you like that stuff then you need to try Magna Flame. Fireball is cinnamon flavor where as Magna Flame has actual cinnamon in it.

Very good. I got a couple bottles for Xmas last year. Both gone now.
WL Weller is my everyday bourbon. This reserve is smooth and not too sweet.

W.L. Weller is a fine bourbon. The Moonshiners make it at 150 proof or higher. That’ll make your shirt stand up straight!!!

I doubt a 17 year old chick would drink my fireball, it would put hair on her chest, lol. I just bottled some 103 bourbon, pretty tasty and smooth for the proof.

Re: Bourbon - 11/20/19 03:12 PM

this last weekend I discovered Ironroot Republic Harbinger, distilled in Denison, TX. Cask Strength, 129 proof, aged 30 months. in addition to the vanilla and caramel flavors, there's some interesting dark fruit flavors, too. This stuff is worth a try!

Pretty sought after on the secondary market, I've heard its ok not great. I'm sure you'll have no problem selling 1oz pours for $15-$20
