Anniversary Dinner in Ft Worth - 11/05/19 03:48 PM

Wife and I will be in Ft Worth this weekend for our anniversary. Planning on going to a nice dinner Saturday night, most likely steakhouse. What would your recommendation be, The Capital Grille, Lonesome Dove, Del Frisco's...or something else.

We've tried them all and The Capital Grille is now our regular choice. Tell them when you make reservations that it's an anniversary!

Capital Grill and Lonesome are both really good, as is Bonnell’s, but it’s out of the way if you’re staying downtown, whereas the rest of your list is in it or close to it. Reatta is a good choice, too. Capital is awesome. Lonesome is awesome too, but different than a normal steakhouse.

The reality is you will have almost the same meal, for almost the same price at any of the places mentioned above. All are excellent choices. Just make reservations, and let them know it is for your anniversary.

If you end up at Capital Grill, the calamari and lobster bisque are both killer. Del Frisco's has my ATF appetizer and dessert - get the bacon w/ bourbon maple glaze and the butter cake.

Nick and Sam's is the best, but it can be loud especially for anniversary. If you want low key w/o the price but still have a great meal that competes with all the big steakhouses in Dallas, I recommend Kenny's Woodfire in Addison, this is hands down where my wife and I choose to go for any occasion. They also know how to pour a drink.

I’m not trying to throw a wrench in your plans, but Simply Fondue was very good and a cool spot when we went there for an anniversary years ago. Might’ve been seven years ago but we both loved it. They had an exotic meat thing that was excellent. Great ambiance. Not what I expected at all. Upscale.

You can’t go wrong with Del Friscos or capital grill. I’m a fan of both for different reasons. I’ve never had a bad experience at either of them. They are all going to similar

If you go to Del's, get the shrimp sampler for the appetizer. It's not on the menu, but features shrimp with a variety of sauces. Excellent.
