Why not, I have a cary permit and purchase a super combo every year and get HIP certified and report the number of ducks and dove I harvest. They already have all the information they need to know I own a gun.

I randomly fill out background checks then change my mind about buying.

If they are keeping records of background checks they must think I have hundreds of guns.

I provide my background checks to prospective employers. They are always impressed if you stack a dozen in with your resume.

30 years ago I was a gun dealer on the side, legal even. One night while I was working at the plant a guy tried to break into my house. My 16 year old daughter was home alone. She called me and told me that a guy was trying to break in. I called the Chief of Police, who was a friend and told him what was going on. He had the police there before the guy could get in. He knew that I had at least 100 long guns and shotguns plus no telling how much ammo and powder. I think he should not have worried because my daughter was ready to shoot the guy.

A valid reason to be concerned. I have 5 tax stamps for suppressors and SBR's at $200 a pop on top of the costs for them. What's to say the government wont suddenly ban them with no restitution like they just did a few months ago with bump stocks.

3-5 pellets. You want 4 buck in a .410 for home defense. 9, .24 caliber lead balls. Heck, I keep 4 buck in my 12ga. home defense shotgun for the first two rounds. A 3" 12ga. shell has 41 pellets. That's what PH's in Africa use when they have to track a wounded Leopard. VERY devastating at close range and doesn't penetrate like 00 or 000 buck, making it ideal for home defense.
