Calling Derek - snake ID

Just moved into my new place in covington Louisiana, came home from the grocery store and this guy is in the blinds. Chicken snake??

I couldn�t live in a house that had snakes in the blinds. Torch it...the whole place.

I think I�ll let him be. Be a nice conversation piece should I have any visitors. Also gives me the chance to be a knight in shining armor if by some chance a lady comes to visit and he shows up.

What should I feed this thing ? I want him to hang around a while.

That�s is a beautiful rat. He might bite a couple times but should calm down quickly with a little handling. You can do it.

Rat. Young 'un. Gently 'catch' him and post a photo. Distract him with one had and snatch him behind the jaws with the other. Or take the bites and rub some dirt on it.

Those that don't know snakes will typically kill either. On sight. Can't say I blame them. Both of these were near the front door to the hacienda.

We've got this rat snek that hangs around. The boy and it have become friends. It's so slow he just chases it around and whips it with a stick. It's hilarious.




But this sumbitch, he almost attacked my landscapers. They beat the cobra out of this dude. Look at that cotton mouth! Cat eyes, rattled it's tail, hissed, cotton mouth, spit poisens. It was the real deal. Stolen Home Depot shovel to the face! To the FACE!

cool snake, only ones I ever see out here are the kind that you can't pet or you die. well, we have a lot of diamondback water snakes too, I leave them alone

Hop that�s kinda what I was thinking. I prolly would slip a disc or blow out a knee if I got woke by him trying to mate with my own snake.

I turned him loose in a tree by the pool, much to the chagrin of my landlord who thinks all snakes should be killed.
