KHOU-TV has posted a video of two alligators spotted down near La Toretta on the west side. Near where MLF headquartered this year.

Re: Gators in Lake Conroe 4-29-19 - 05/02/19 01:48 AM

Because apparently they haven’t been spotted that far south.

I looked at a house on Conroe last weekend. I shall use this information as leverage when negotiating price.

I've trolled 100 of yards next to a 500 plus pound gator on the Rez, only to eventually spook it, then have to go clean my drawers. I don't understand what the problem is.

Ask if the house got flooded when the SJRA didn't open the gates during the hurricane?

I coached in Conroe about 1996 and there were gators there at that time.

Been around gators all my life. Wade fished in the McFaddin NWR for 2 hours within 50' of a 10 footer. Went in a small cove off of Mill Creek in the south end of TB this past Sat. and counted 6 in an hour up tp 8'. For the most part they want nothing to do with us. Your lab is a different story though.

Ate a friends lab during teal season. It's earlier then and gators are still very active. I've heard of multiple instances of this though.

They mean this far south on Lake Conroe. The north end (around the National Forest) of the lake has been noted to have them.

Gates were open the entire time. At one point, releasing near 80K cfs. That will happen when the lake's watershed get 18" of rain in short order.

With that said, if the house didn't flood during Harvey, you're probably ok.

If the gators don't work for leverage, use the lowering of the lake during the spring and during hurricane season. There's a possibility that if you have a dock, it could be dry if seasonal rains are below what they're expecting. I believe they lower the lake 1-foot during the spring and 2-feet during hurricane season.
