motels...what goes around,comes around....and other strange/funny happenings - 12/14/18 03:59 PM
if you've fished tournaments and/or traveled for many years like me,you spent a lot of nights in motels and seen some crazy stuff..most of the time,it's a bunch of drunks hooping and hollering or kids running up and down the halls waking you up and nothing you can do about it but maybe once in a lifetime you get revenge.....here's one of my favorites...
back In the 80's I had a club tourney on Lake martin(Al.)...was by myself and fished all day ...it was cold winter day and I was really tired....checked in the Horseshoe Bend motel in Alex city..they put me in room toward back of motel...walked across street,got something to eat and by 9;30 I was sound asleep......about 1;00 in morning there was a helluva racket in the rooms next to me....it was bunch of students who had been to the awbarn/ole miss game that night...they were drunk and and it took about an hour before they quieted down enough for me to go back to sleep...
I got up about 4:30 am got all my stuff loaded up ready to go and last thing I did was turn the TV to MTV station,turn the volume wide open and toss my key on my bed....as I was getting in my truck,I heard one of them holler "hey S.O.B. turn that TV off"......the motel night manager also ran the convenience store next to the motel office and I always wondered how long it took for to get him/her up there and turn that TV off.....
