Why do people like the shows...

Why do people like the shows... - 11/20/18 11:54 PM

Where people are looking for something that they never find?

Examples Curse of Oak Island, Finding Bigfoot, Caribbean Pirate Treasure, etc.

The show's over television where people are looking for something and they go on for years and they never find anything but people eat it up!

Whats the deal?

Its what separates us from the apes. The challenge, the thrill on the chase, the chance to win big, to know more, stuff like that.
As a country, its what makes us want to explore the unknown of inner and outer Space.
Since we can't do all of those things all of the time, the TV shows show us what we'd like to do ourselves.

Saw a blonde out there one time in front of a ATM machine. As the money came out, She started shouting, "I won, I won".

Im watching The Curse of Oak Island right now. Half of me says the treasure was taken a long time ago (I do believe there was treasure buried there at some point) but the other half of me does hope they find something of historical significance.

Wouldn't it be funny if they found a treasure map?

The only "reality" show that I watch is Alaska the Last Frontier. And even that one bugs me sometimes with the scripted drama.

I don't know, but I'll bet they are stroking their pit bull and eating a McRib while they drink a warm watered down coke from a paper cup.

Another one is Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates, Every show he is in a cave, underwater, or up on some mountain & he has never found anything.
We watch it and it is very entertaining. He was in Tibet searching for the Yeti and was very excited when he found a tuft of hair the native people claimed was from one.
He had it tested & it proved to be bear fur.
He searched for Attila the Huns tomb in Mongolia. Guess what : He did not find it. However, the area of Mongolia he was in was beautiful.

That was the show that got me thinking about this I just did not recall the name.

He went to Fiji and was looking for evidence of canibalism that had happen like 300 years ago... shocker he found jack!

As if the bones and human cooking pots are just sitting around still. Give me a break. But they made it all dramatic like he was right about to find a smoking gun. I only watched bcs it was on when I woke up and i could not find the remote.

Well, I hardly consider myself as low IQ. I think I am pretty smart. As long as the show is on the wife leaves the room and I don't have to listen to the nagging. Hope they never find it.

I watched the Netflix series on Finding Pablo Escobars millions. I knew they wouldn't find it, but was interested in the search. Pretty sure I do not fall in the Low IQ range of people, but I guess since I watched it I must be....

People watching reality shows must have a very boring life to get wrapped up in that type of trash. Survivor really they couldn't survive on their own if their lives depended on it.
I'm rather watch paint dry than a reality show at least I know that isn't rigged and scripted cheers

They do share a ton of historical information so I do not feel like my time watching it was totally wasted. I was intrigued the cross like the one they found was drawn on a prison wall in France when France jailed masons. I do believe we are going to hear the rest of the story about the composition of the cross. The two brooches they have found are beautiful especially the last one. The first one with a garnet that is over 500 years old is intriguing as well. That may tie in why the bone fragment they found was from someone from the middle east. I was disappointed they could not date the glass found in the second brooch. I believe we will have more info coming regarding the metal composition of the second brooch.

I consider it to be low IQ to watch the NFL games with the players disrespecting our flag, dancing in the end zone, and running around beating their selfs on the chest every time they make a play, even if they are 40 points behind.

Well, yall got me on that one, I never claimed to be too smart but it is not because of the TV shows that I like to watch. I dont spell well either, my fingers dont always hit the keys that I intend to, and my grammar leaves a lot to be desired. Heck, I may start posting more, you guys are going to need someone to pick on in the future.

Not sure, but I should be able to restore a car in two weeks, make my own moonshine ,build and live in a tiny house, and find the Ark of the Covenant in a storage building in Alba, Tx. from what I've invested in stoopid TV shows.

The spelling police are everywhere on message boards, lol. Grammar police are not far behind but I had to correct someone who tried to correct some other person's grammar when the original poster posted the question "Isn't it there gym?" by saying it should be, Isn't it they're gym? (double face palm) Lord have mercy on us and yes, it is their gym.

Yes, there was a lot of Hitler stuff was found in the house in South America. Fascinating.

Are they about to discover the Roman's discovered America over a hundred years earlier than Columbus? I find the stuff they are finding on Oak Island fascinating plus they are sharing a lot of historical information throughout the series. Those explorers back then were fearless to find what they could find.
