Actually it says more about Texas. Most of the guys that play for OU are from Texas.

Tap the brakes, most of their roster is not from Texas. A significant chunk (33% of the 114 man roster), but nowhere near most.

over the last decade they have expanded to national recruiting, they're pulling more and more players from the west and east coast.
take 2016 for example, of their 21 recruits only 4 were from texas; they pulled as many from PA as from TX

This has been a good thing for schools like OSU, Tech, KSU ... OU used to take a bigger chunk of the players in OK, and a bunch of the top players from TX as well - these days they are leaving a lot more talent in-state for other schools in the region to pick up.

When OU was bad (90s), it really, really hurt OSU, OU had to focus more on in-state talent and OSU's recruiting suffered for it.

Kind puts fourteen in a row in perspective.

part of the reason TX players go there is that you are a god if you are a starter for OU. They have no pro teams in the whole state besides the thunder and that's only basketball. Yes you are bigtime as a QB for UT but not in the whole state where we have pro teams and big time schools all over. Hell if your a
starting OL people know who you are.

Or mabey Oklahoma is better at producing Meth than athletes.....

Interesting stat. Texas have never scored 50 or more against OU and OU has scored 50+ 6 times with half of those scoring over 60. But Texas has 15 wins on Oklahoma overall. Series is at 61–46–5

Too bad OU doesn't spend more on scholarships for students who aren't jocks....the kid who could cure cancer, etc. can't afford to get in there but oh boy if you are a jock you get handed everything. Yeah I know it's big money....but that doesn't make it right. It is slanted way too much towards the athletics there in my opinion.

With easy loans from the government that kid can go too.

If a kid is smart and motivated and really wants to get a college education, its doable without going into big time debt.
