In my opinion, the greatest band of all time.

Favorite album: Load
Favorite song: Bleeding me

Not the biggest fan of theirs. But I will say they put on one helluva live show. Seen them six times over the years.

Of course you can. You always have the freedom to be wrong. laugh They really aren't my thing, but they do what they do very well, and have been doing it for a long time. I would probably name them in the top 5. Not really sure who I would call goats though. I would include The Beatles, U2, The Stones, Mettalica, and The Who in the top 5 rock bands.

Man I couldn’t pick a favorite. There are quite a few bands that depending on day, time, occasion, my mood...etc. would float to the top. I do like Metallica. I’ve never bought any but I respect their body of work.

Ride the lightning
Garage days revisited
Kill'em all
Masters of puppets
Black album
Death magnetic
Hardwired
And justice for all

Trapped Under Ice
Creeping Death
For Whom the Bell Rolls
Ride the Lightning are equally bad [censored] songs to me. Tough to pick a favorite out of those. Pretty much why Ride the Lightning is my favorite album by them.

First time I heard their version of that song was at their concert at Retama polo fields in SA. It was incredible.

Re: Metallica - 07/12/18 02:01 AM

I've liked them from the start.. I still jam every time one of their songs comes on... and my phone is full of their music.

Justice for all is probably the album I jam to the most.. just love the double kick drums in most of those songs.... plus they are long riffs.... and that is what made them famous...

What if I told you that a person can actually like more than one genre of music?
Example. I'm a metal head through and through. Pantera and Slayer being my two favorites. And two of my top five favorite bands of all time. But then another in my top five is Cody Jinks. Not the same style by any means. Even though he once played metal. His song writing is so unbelievably good to me. I can easily look past the country part of it and appreciate his talent and greatness. Back in my younger days I wouldn't even consider listening to something that wasn't metal. I had to grow as a person to appreciate other genres.

my opinion, easily the greatest pure metal band of all time. especially when considering longevity, record sales, live show venues, and mainstream cross-over their success cannot be debated. Ozzy (combined with Black Sabbath) may have a claim for a long time, but that torch was formally passed in '08 when Metallica headlined Ozz-fest, with Ozzy opening for them.

Probably Sabbath or Zeppelin. It's a tough call. Neither is my personal favorite but as far as influence I think they rank right up there. Metallica is likely to go down right up there among the greats though, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Stones, Metallica.

I'd bet there's been a lotta bone smokin' amongst this group of posters during their lives. So......brain dead don't count for everything. What about Waylon, Willie, and the Boyz? They got goats, too....

Willie is probably the most overrated singer/artist of our lifetime.

Willie just down right sucks.

Willie had maybe a handful of songs I like out of his bazillion years in the industry. But I won't lie, I would definitely party with him.

Pack your S and leave. That's a felony in Texas.

His music sucks and he's an open borders liberal. He sucks.

I like Willie, and all kinds of tunes, I don't even consider political beliefs when it comes to music, what they believe and say beyond that [censored], just jam some heavy tunes

There's a lot worse than Willie, dam.

Metallica is top 10 for sure...all time

Let's say Rush for example, those guys suck.

I'd like to add Pink Floyd, they suck too

I agree. They should entertain, not interject politics.

Willie was jamming with Beto the other day. Hell no.

That's how I see it. My bass player is pretty liberal. But he's a helluva bass player, good drummer, great back up vocals. And has been my vocal coach since I started on this new adventure. Politics never even comes up.

So is Beyonce. Not a fan of hers. So is South Park Mexican. We all know how his career went.
I respect Willie for his body of work, and charitable acts like Farm Aid. Even like a few of his songs. However he's far from the greatest musical talent to come from Texas.
What about the Vaughan's or
Abbott's.
Willie isn't even the best in his genre from Texas. George Strait has more #1 hits than Willie has joints rolled at any given time.

Motley Crue died after Dr Feelgood. Vince is one of the most unique Rock voices ever.

Still in the works. Only got a few practices under our belt. Guitarists has prior commitments to another band until the end on August. So in the meantime we are working on our sound and potential set list. Leaning towards a play off of Cody Jinks' song Hippies and Cowboys. Instead Hippies and Outlaws. Since we are mixing some rock and outlaw country. But still yet to be decided.

Vince Neil was great. His voice isn't what it once was though. Watch the final concert if you ever get a chance. The rest of the band was on point. Mick Mars is the best guitar playing corpse I have ever seen. Vince's vocals were pretty bad in my opinion for that show.

Metallica, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, and John Tesh were all great at their respective brands of music but damn are they overhyped.

"NEW"

Load was over 20 years ago. I haven't cared for anything after S&M, St.Anger was a pile of garbage, Death Magnetic Sounded terrible. Hardwired was decent but nowhere near the level of their old stuff.
