Satellites?

Satellites? - 04/08/18 12:24 PM

Every morning there is a satellite that goes south to north at 5:56 over the back yard. Stars are out but the satellite is high enough the sun is reflecting on it to make it bright.

Didn't realize how high most satellites travel over the earth, 12,400 miles to 22,000 miles. Interesting we can see them that far away from the surface.

And, they can see you too! Google Jade Helm!

Facetious Font on.

It amazes me too to watch them track horizon to horizon. Makes me feel tiny.

When I was a kid we would sit outside and watch for satellites. Pretty cool to see what appears to be a star actually a man made object. The international space station travels at over 17,000 mph and sees 16 sunrises and sunsets a day. Imagine traveling around the earth in 90 minutes.

Lately I’ve been counting stars

I use an app called “Satellite Tracker” to see when ISS will be coming over. There is an app that tracks commercial sats but it takes $$.
