I have to take an engine to Tulsa Aircraft Engines next week. I'll be there a few days. Any recommendations for good places to eat? Thanks....

Cheers, cheers

Coney Island downtown is a tulsa institution. Hanks or Claudes are good for burgers. Hideaway pizza is good. Mahogany Prime if you want to step up. Siegis is good for german. What part of town are you staying in?

Coker's in Arlington is horrible, so Rib Crib must be really bad to be worst ever.

McGill's on the top floor of Hard Rock Casino is pretty good. Their buffet on the lower level will fill you up.

I don't love them, but they're ok. I like David's better. Have you tried jambo's yet? they took the old coker's location.

I used to work out of our office in Tulsa years back every now and then. The guys took me to really good places to eat lunch. One place was a really big kinda like Fried Chicken buffet. The other had home style food, really good place for lunch, kinda like the Dixie Cafe in Ft Wroth. I can't remember either. Its been so long back I can't remember other than it was really good.

Re: Good Eats in Tulsa - 01/09/18 07:46 PM

Make sure and go to Ike's Chili by the Admiral traffic circle. You'll be right there, close. Get the 3-way.

Also, go to the new restaurant in Broken Arrow called White River Fish Market. There's one closer to where you're staying on N Sheridan, though....fresh fish, just about any kind you want.

Burn Co has the best BBQ in Oklahoma; not even debatable. And maybe, just maybe, the best BBQ in the world!!! There I said it, and I am a naturalized Texan.

I'd live in Jenks.

Tulsa is not a bad place. We have a lot of Friends that live in Tulsa. They seem to like it.

Fishing Grand lake during the week wouldn't be too bad a gig either. Chasing them big Oklahoma Whitetails wouldn't be bad either. We have guys here in Houston that have given up South Texas Leases and hunting in Oklahoma.

I grew up at 53rd and lewis. We mostly ate at Goldies before they branched out. It used to be the clubhouse for a par three.

Graduated HS in Jenks. My lakes were Grand first, then Hudson and Ft Gibson. Those were my favorites. I also spent lots of time on Eufala, Navigation Channel, Keystone, Skiatook in its heyday......didn't hunt until I moved down here so I know I missed out on big deer.

Coney Islander for sure. ( yes that's how you spell it, islander). Haven't changed a bite since 1926 is their motto. My son spent 2 years in Japan, got off the plane in Tulsa and hauled butt straight to Coney Islander. There are several in Tulsa. Hard Rock's buffet is ok but pricey for a buffet. They may or may not have food at Night Trips but who cares lol, GO there.

for 15 years right there where you grew up. 5323 S. Lewis, corner of 53rd and Lewis...building sat on northeast corner, Market Administrator. Was that after your time? 1985-2000.
