Well, it's been 30 years since I last spent much time fishing. Hunting was my hobby when not working. Now, I'm part of the working retired and would like to get back into some fishing. As a kid I creek fished with good success, and did ok on Lake Somerville when I felt like driving that far when in my 20's. Loved using top water lures and spinners at daybreak there.

I'm mostly interested in catfishing, sunfish, and the occasional bass. Went to Rockport a few weeks ago with my son and caught a lot of small Sea Bass. Too small to keep, but it rekindled the fun of reeling them in.

Right now I'm bank fishing. I'd like a boat but want to hold down expenses so I'm considering my options and trying to learn from the experts here.

Welcome to the forum. Kayaks can be a lot of bang for the buck.
You can go simple or rig them as nice as most bass boats.
