Saw this on my news feed on Facebook earlier and started thinking it would make a great keel guard! I've been trying to think of something that would work and this stuff looks like it would work great!! Thoughts? https://youtu.be/nMAd4FpXpy4

That stuff is pretty cool. Forget the keel guard and just make your own kayak. It didn't look to be boiling so I wonder how hot the water needs to be? That wouldn't be good to take it out to the lake on a hot summer day and your kayak starts turning clear and disappears on you.

It's definitely something you'd have to just try to find out if it works. Shanelunker I was thinking of ways to make it stick but don't know how it would work until I can actually try it. And I don't believe warm water in the summer would affect it any.

I have used instamorph for making a knob I broke on a heater and it worked awesome. It is as hard as any piece of plastic you can find in your house. 150 degrees is when it becomes moldable. Looks like the same stuff. Instamorph has absolutely no adhesive properties two pieces wont even stick to each other unless you knead it together when 150 degrees plus. A little gorilla glue would hold it though I bet. .

Just FYI.....$30.00 Aussie dollars equals nearly $20.00 US dollars

I have a genuine Keel guard on my kayak. Have had for close to a year now. Contact Marc Mitchell on this forum and he can get you set up. I believe the warranty is for a long time if you have him install it

I haven't got around to testing it, but I was thinking of using a spray on bed liner. The same stuff that people use in the bed of their trucks. I have Rhino lining in my truck and that stuff is hard to get off and I've moved countless items in it. I've moved my family 3 times in the truck and the lining shows minimal wear. You can buy the pray on liner at most home improvement stores or auto store for about $10 a bottle.
