It'll be hard to measure a 30+# blue in a yak, specifically my pescador. So we measure the fish take a pic and release? And the"weigh ins" will be a turn in of the pics or the actual fish?

Just trying to make sure I understand

It is a turn in of Pictures......Most folks use a measuring device called a Hawg Trough to take the picture with, it's a scale designed to be easier to measure a fish with in a kayak. We'll score based on lenghts not pounds - "weigh-in" is sort of confusing - sorry 'bout that!

Jose and all,
For big blues, gar, or anything over about 30 inches any tape measure will be acceptable.

This is a fun tournament to raise money for HOW so we don't want to get "ruled" to death on it.

I'm in - just need to decide which one(s) I want to sign up for.

The tournament will be CPR only (all fish must be released alive)

Why the live release? Releasing your crappie to the grease alive sounds dangerous.

That's a good question.
What we mean is you don't have to bring the fish to a weigh in.
Nobody will be penalized for keeping fish to eat!!!

Re: GTG HOW Benefit Fishing Tournament - 04/24/14 02:13 PM

Yes, I was sure that was what was intended. thumb

Other as it's easier to clarify things now rather than at "weigh in": I know this is to benefit HOW and I fully support that and any prizes are seconday, but on the prizes will the payout for a category be based upon entries for that category or the overall entries - IOW, do all categories winners get the same payout?

Re: GTG HOW Benefit Fishing Tournament - 04/24/14 02:33 PM

Payouts will be per category so everybody needs to encourage their buddies to sign up so they can win more and HOW can win more. (wow, that was a mouthful) smile

Each Catagories "pot" will be based on it's individual registrants so I'm guessing the payouts will be different in each category..... slinger

Okay, the tourney starts in 8 days and nobody has registered yet.
We need some feedback. Is this a bad idea? Are you just waiting until the last minute? Do we need to change something? Do I need to quit worrying about it and go back to work? hmmm

I'll be signing up today.

C.M- I think I'll give my pescador some love this go round. Only because I don't have a raptor of my own smile
