Biggest I ever caught... - 06/27/11 01:22 PM
Caught this last Friday from GV. Windy and choppy waters. Launched from Murrell park around 4pm. Headed east & saw bunch of birds diving about a mile or 2 east of Murrell Park. Got within a 1/4 mile from the birds when I saw a freaking pontoon boat making a B-line to the birds too. Of course he made it there 1st. Basically all he did was drive in full force slowed down went right through the birds, U-turn drove the birds again and took off. As he went by me, I was mad dogging him showing my displeasure. He had the nerve to wave at me. I ignored him while still mad dogging him. Really wanted to give him the 1 finger salute. Needless to say the birds were all gone and the fish were gone as well. Didn't see anything on my FF as I peddle through the area. I couldn't help but think that guy did that on purpose. All I could do then was wish with all my might that his boat would break down in the middle of the lake. Trolled around for a few hours, but didn't see any fish any where from 15ft-40ft. Trolled back to the boat launch as the sun is down by now and saw a line of boats waiting to launch & load. I was behind the no wake buoys and started to reel in my lines. As I was reeling in my second line, I got a snag I thought. I kept reeling and pulling still thinking it was snagged. Then all of a sudden, I felt something pulling back. Must be a turtle. Still reeling, but it wasn't putting up much of a fight definitely a turtle. Turns out to be the BIGGEST bass I ever caught. Don't know the weight or length as I had no scale or tape measure. While waiting got everything ready to load back up and snap a pic.
