Went on a trip with Shane (yaknyota), B-Rod, B-Rods friend Ollie and Ollie's son Jacob. Got to the put in location at sunrise and it was a brisk 60 degrees out. Once the sun came out it warmed up quickly and turned into a beautiful day. I had a great time and learned A LOT about fishing the Brazos. Shane is not only a really nice guy but he is very knowledgeable and enjoys sharing his knowledge with his customers. We caught quite a few fish. Between the 4 of us we caught large mouth, small mouth, cats, striper, drum, blue gill, and one gar. Jacob the youngster caught the big fish of the day. His largemouth was HUGE. Hopefully the guys post some of the pictures. I caught a fairly large black bass too. Its my biggest fish in a while.
We stayed on the water until right before dark. If you haven't ever been to the Brazos your missing out on one of the best fishing rivers in Texas. The variety of fish, the scenery, and the water quality are top notch there. And I highly recommend going on one of yaknyota's guided trips. He works his butt off to make sure you have a great time.
Hopefully B-Rod can add to this with his pictures. Here is my big bass.....
