I went out to Lake Arrowhead yesterday 02/19 with shad and bluegill and it was super slow drifting for me. I fished a new area and was marking a lot of fish and shad but couldn’t get them to bite. After about an hour I caught one small one. I would catch one here and there but nothing consistent.
Then I hooked into a 29lber and as soon as I got it to the kayak a 31lber absolutely demolished another rod! The rod was on the back of the kayak and it actually started dragging me backwards before I could get it out of the holder.
I called a buddy that lived right by where I was fishing and he came down and snapped a few pics.
They both swam off after a few pics. It was definitely a blast to have both of them in the kayak. I ended the day with just 7 all together but definitely a fun day.
