Murvaul 1/4/2022

Tough day of fishing. On the water around 3:00, windy out of the south, water temp 54. Started out throwing jig, spinner bait, and square bill... nothing. Bait around, fish around, nothing active. Left the bridge and went shallow.. nothing... getting late back to bridge... switched to 6xd and changed spinner bait to willow leaf from finesse.. nothing.



Took skunkset picture and decided to call it a day.. Couldn’t believe I would get skunked this early in the year. Only skunked three times in 2021 and two of those were at Fork.



Decide to make another last cast.



No skunk after all. Didn’t get a weight but I would guess close to 9 lbs.. Picture did no justice to how fat she was.

it was white-capping & COLD on my end of the lake...i didn't even put a Stubby bait n the water 2dy...ur a tuff coot

It was white capping on both sides of the bridge when I first got there around 3:00 Nobody fishing.. in the 10 minutes it takes me to paddle from ramp to bridge a boat that was already on the lake shows up.. then two boats unload and fly to bridge, passing me just before I arrived. No one caught squat except the guy fishing for crappie that arrived first... he caught one crappie while I was there. Shad school 6 feet thick on graph.. Wind finally let up late and when I made it back there everyone was gone.
