Native Slayer Max 10

Native Slayer Max 10 - 09/18/21 01:44 PM

I’m having a hard time talking myself out of going out and just plopping down the money for this. I just sold my old truck, but already bought a bed extender for the Equinox, just in case I happen to slip past the warden and need to haul it back home. The hitch hasn’t shown up yet, which may be the only thing stopping me now. The only obstacle I can see after the towing hardwear shows up is finding the boat in stock.

This morning would have been a pretty nice day to go pedaling around the lake.

This morning was a great morning to pedal around the Lake Grapevine.
Get your order in now as the lead times suck.
I took the wife shopping for Subarus this afternoon and they are selling vehicles scheduled to arrive in 30 days.

It was nice again this evening. You need to order your kayak and get out there before it gets cold.

My hope is, I won’t get as wet pedaling vs paddling so cold weather fishing won’t be as bad.

I bought a used 12.5 a couple of months ago.

I’d say do it. And do it now.

I have a used Equinox arriving next Saturday. Already bought a hitch to mount on it, the tailgate extender should be here soon. Once I have that transaction done and I know I have a way to haul it I will pull the trigger. It keeps me awake at night wanting to give it a whirl.

As you said finding one in stock is going to be a challenge. I was at one dealer the other day and several kayak companies aren't even accepting orders due to the backlog. Might be best to look for used via Craigslist or facebook marketplace.

Mariner Marine shows to have one in Dallas. Hopefully can get rigged up to haul it while it’s still there.

Do it. I’m on the fence about the 2021 hobie outbabck. Could take a road trip and pick one up now. Or I could wait for the 2022 model which may or may not be any different but most likely will cost more. If I wait it could be spring before 2022 models are in stock.

Not yet. I don’t have the time yet to drive to Dallas. I keep shopping though.

May have more used ones pop up for sale now with winter rolling in. Good luck! I am still loving mine.

I’m kind of looking at the Seastream 12 now.

I brought home the Seastream 120pd today. It was a compromise, but the initial voyage seemed promising. It seems very stable, decent speed and seems to be a comfort ride. It doesn’t turn real tight, but I think the rudder can be adjusted a bit more. No internal storage so I will have to figure out the fish finder set up. The Feel Free rails are stupid and I had to buy some adapters to make my existing rod holders, fish finder etc to work. I’m going to goof with it a bit more tomorrow to start getting my gear figured out. I’m happy with it so far but can tell I will have to adapt a bit to make it what I want.

It was hard to get a good read on it today since the rudder wasn’t adjusted right and there was no wind to see how it really handles. I drove into a boat wake and was surprised it came over the bow. That might become an issue at some point. The water drained out quickly though.

A few hacks on YouTube for that style rudder to increase performance.
