Yes, they are for accessories as you mentioned. That is if my interpretation of what you are referring to is correct. Rod holder, cup holder, mounts for fish finders, paddle holders, etc. The list is quite extensive.

I would look at the specs on the kayak you bought to see what the tracks are. Yak Attack gear tracks are on most kayaks and the accessories can be found in some stores and online. I have not done a ton of accessory shopping so I may not be the best resource on where you can find them. I would assume though that most yak accessories are made to be compatible with all yak tracks.

Those are gear traks if that is the picture of your kayak in your post.
Academy should have those accessories that fit that track. You can mount rod holders, depth finders, cup holders etc.
A good quality PFD (personal flotation device) should be the most important thing you should buy before rod holders as it can save your life.
A kayak is not a boat, and it can flip you in the blink of an eye if you aren't careful. It takes a bit of practice to know your limitations.

Those metal tracks are for holding your single smokes.

How many of you are old enough to remember "loosies"? Always illegal, but a mainstay in almost every gas station in the neighborhood that I was raised in... not so much when you got into the burbs, but very much so a normal practice in South St Louis. Good times.

$0.05 for the off-brand and $0.10 for the name-brand.

I was 13 years old buying 5 cigarettes at a time. I was then 25 trying to quit... reverting back to buying 1 at a time to get over the hump. LOL.
