Trinity River in Bridgeport

I have recently moved to Bridgeport and taken my kayak out to the trinity and put in around the country club. I fish almost exclusively for largemouth. I've been a couple times, and caught a couple sandies on brush hogs lol. Has anyone fished this area? Am I wasting my time with largemouth there? Thanks for any advice!
