Night tubin'--oooo, scary! - 05/31/03 06:11 PM
Am I glad to have finally found a couple of nuts as loony as myself! Jerry, Joe, and I went night fishing last night out in Decatur. Had a blast! The fishing was steady, the weather was perfect, and there were no jet skiers, big boats, dune buggies, etc. to deal with. We caught fish on at least 7 or 8 different types of baits, and caught them everywhere from deeper channels to a foot of water in the weeds.
I know some folks are skeered about fishing from their tubes at night, but I really think it can't be beat this time of year. All you need is a good headlamp, some black baits, and some bug spray, and you're in business! If any of the rest of you are interested in a bit of blind bassin', give me a holler! (Hmmm, a night-time float tube tourney...)
Fish hard, and stay wet.
