Too bad you are not in Katy. I would take you up on it. Hope you find someone to routinely fish with. I mostly fish by myself. Would prefer to have someone in the boat with me but that does not keep me off of the water.

I am with you TomRom. I am tired of going by myself but it is difficult to find someone to go with you.

It is kinda funny how many people you see fishing alone. I probably do about 95% of the time. I live 1/2 mile from the ramp and my rods stay on the deck of the boat. I wake up, if I feel like going I do. If I don’t, I don’t. If I want to fish 1 hour or all day it’s just me. The boat is backed in the shop ready to go. So if I feel like a quick afternoon trip I do that. It changes all that when I have someone coming up to fish. Don’t get me wrong it’s fun to fish with someone sometimes too. Before I moved to the lake I would fish with others a lot more. My buddy’s that I would like to fish with have their own boats and we all like to fish our own boats because our stuff is in there. Lol

I had someone reach out to me about fishing, but with this Covid [censored] going around and looking like its going to be with us for awhile, I decided to stay solo except for my grandson. I do have a couple of guys that I will spot lock beside and shoot the breeze with when we are both out on the lake we like to fish.

I'm an early morning guy, but just not during the week. I'm new to Texas so if you decide to go on a weekend, I'd be grateful for the chance.

So if you wanted to fish on Thursdays at Lake Fork with or without your boat it is possible because you could join the Lake Fork Anglers BFC made up mostly with seniors.
The fishing is friendly but competitive and fairly inexpensive.
. We fish 50 Thursdays a year. And boaters fish for free as the co-angler will pay his $20 entry fee (which includes the 100% $5.00 lunker fee) instead of giving $20 for gas.
For us it is not about winning a bunch of money. It is about time spent in the boat with another angler learning fishing techniques and baits, enjoying stories and learning spots.
And because we measure, record, and release the fish on the spot we count slot fish as well. We fish two different format every other week. A 5 fish limit and a MLF style where every fish you catch counts.
E-mail me at sjbasser@gmail.com for info.

One of the very best co-anglers in our club comes out up to four times a month from Arlington

Being retired and having a new boat was suppose to be fun fishing all the time. it was until Grandson started elementary school, Ive lost my fishing buddy. Heck I like when the wife goes, but shes cant go all the time either, she hast retired yet....Like going during the week cause you have the lakes pretty much to your self...speak to a lot of fisherman, they just don't have the time to go.....

What we need is a Retired Fishing Club.....heck 10 ole guys meeting up at a lake, throwing $5 in a hat and coming back in 4 hours to see who won the hat, would be like going to Vegas!...

Keep Fishing !
