Brownwood Report

Sorry no pics, Last weekend before the rains. It was windy water temp 65 to 66, looked mainly for crappie shallow, nada, only 4 fish, they have not spawned. Fished for bass caught 2, couldnt find them deep or shallow. Finally gave up fished whites, caught 70 or so, deep not spawned. On slabs deadsticking.

HArd to find anyone else who fishes brownwood on here. Where did you catch the whites?

Bass Club had huge stringers, maybe I was a week to early! I catch them either out from the island across from the encampment or I have a hidden hump halfway between the wild duck on mountain view. Nobody ever fishes but me. I am there and everyone just flies right past me.

Hi Mike. We need to meet there one of these days. I really like that lake. I have a son in Midland that loves to fish and he has his boat out there. Thanks for the updates and info. I will be up there before the end of the month.

I love the lake, fish mostly at night under the lights. Can never seem to locate them during the day. May have to seek out your spots.

Coach. We had a family reunion on Brownwood for 20+ years. Always had it mid May. We would catch whites until we quit. It has always been good fishing for us. In May we would hit the Baptist Camp area and Flatrock area. Would also catch some hybrids south of the Goat Island area. Cant wait to go back.

I own a ranch east of the lake. I fish Lake Brownwood on occasion. I enjoy the reports Mike! Keep up the good work! I have mainly fished Lake Proctor since I moved up here from the coast. I just up-sized my boat to a 22' Bay boat and Helix 12/gen 2 electronics so I can fish the larger lakes. I'm mainly a catfish guy but do enjoy crappie and whites too! Taking the yak to Proctor in a hour or so. Gonna jig some crappie. If anyone wants some company drop me a PM. Im self employed and free to fish when I like. I'm also good for fuel and anchor pulling. Good fishing fella's!

Coach, Littlefeather and Yahoo, pm ur number and let me know when u guys are there. I am headed there tomorrow. I always seem to find them, but in full disclosure my girl catches way more fish than me. I have a place at oak point and go as much as possible.
